We were lucky to catch up with Red Tailed Rounders recently and have shared our conversation below.
Red Tailed Rounders, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
We recently released our debut EP called “First Round.” It is a collection of 6 of our original songs. The EP is a representation of our desire to create new music in the country tradition.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are string band based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are 4 people all hailing from all over the United States. We met through our mutual love for American music. We each bring different influences from American music such as Bluegrass, Country blues, and Old Time. Combining our influences, we bring our own unique sound to country music. We are working to create a country and string band scene in Philadelphia and we want more of these types of acts to come and play in Philadelphia.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The best way to support artists is to come to a show and/or buy physical albums and merchandise. Ultimately, we want people to hear our music and are happy when people listen however they listen to music. Another way to support an artist is to follow them on social media and share with friends and family.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of our journey as a band is getting to play our songs for audiences and creating a community for this music in Philadelphia.
