We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kiara Clark a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kiara, thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My parents raised us with manners and kept us in church! Growing up, we heard “manners will take you a long way.” We also stayed in church, literally we were there pretty much every single day! Proverbs 22:6 says “train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” As I think on that scripture my parents really did just that. Even though I went through my late teen and young adult years rebelling, as I got older and eventually starting my business, having manners and Christ at the center of every decision I make has impacted both my life and career.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Kiara Clark. I made my big debut to the world on June 16, 1990. born and raised in the beautiful city by the sea, Savannah, Ga. I dedicate my time to being a wife, Stay at home mom, mental health advocate, content creator, and a crafter. I enjoy creating safe spaces for those needing to vent. Through my enjoyment of helping others, I am currently taking classes to become a certified doula. Outside for being a business owner, I have recently added being a published author to my many accomplishments.
In 2018 I was admitted, by law, into a mental health institution. I was there for three days! Once I went through the check in process the nurse said “Sweetie, there’s nothing wrong with you. You just vented at the wrong time.” While there I realized there was no safe space for people who just needed to be heard. I was going through my own depression battle but I knew I needed to be helping others through. My three days there I was able to birth something bigger than me and that is Let’s Vent by Kiara a safe space for those needing to be heard.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for me is being consistent. Constantly posting on all my platforms so clients and potential clients can see that Let’s Vent by Kiara is here

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn being behind the scenes. Pretty much all my life, I’ve been helping in the back. So launching my business was tough! Even on my initial launch day lol my mom had to say “Kiara remember this is your event”. I was so use to not doing the speaking.
