We recently connected with Ashli & Shannon Mccoy & Clark and have shared our conversation below.
Ashli & Shannon, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
If we could go back in time, honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing about when we started this business. Let us tell you why. We launched this brand during a time when life was serving all the “figure it out or fall behind” vibes. Everything felt uncertain, and we were trying to find our footing—both career-wise and personally. We didn’t have it all figured out (not even close), but what we did have was a clear vision and the drive to create something meaningful.
Starting sooner? Maybe we’d have gotten a jumpstart, but would we have been truly ready? Mentally, emotionally, or even skill-wise? Probably not. Starting later? Let’s be real, we might’ve overthought ourselves out of the whole idea entirely.
The truth is, timing is everything, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was exactly what we needed. Every mistake we made, every win we celebrated—those moments built the foundation for this brand. Starting earlier might’ve changed our trajectory, but not necessarily for the better. Starting later? We might’ve missed the window of opportunity that brought us here.
So no regrets. We started exactly when we were meant to, and that’s what makes our journey so powerful.

Ashli & Shannon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Convo2Aspire (C2A) is all about creating a space where women can dream big, take action, and connect with others who genuinely support their growth. We started this brand because we saw the power in meaningful conversations—the kind that inspire real change and help women move past challenges like self-doubt or feeling stuck.
We host vibrant events like the “Color Party,” offer membership tiers with perks like consultations and exclusive gatherings, and share resources to help women prioritize mental health, set goals, and thrive. What makes us different is how personal and intentional we are. This isn’t just about networking; it’s about building a sisterhood that celebrates individuality and empowers every woman to grow.
The most rewarding part? Seeing women come together, share their journeys, and leave feeling seen and unstoppable. If you’re ready to connect and aspire higher, we’re here for you every step of the way. Visit Convo2Aspire.com to join the movement!

How’d you meet your business partner?
Ashli and Shannon? We go way back—like, best friends since high school, Class of 2013. From long talks about life and dreams to building Convo2Aspire together, our connection has always been about lifting each other up. Starting this business was just an extension of what we’ve always done for each other: creating space for big ideas, supporting growth, and navigating life with purpose.
Building C2A as co-founders is like turning our friendship into a mission to inspire others. The same trust, teamwork, and shared vision that bonded us as teens is now fueling our journey as business partners. It’s been incredible growing together and seeing that same spirit reflect in the community we’re building with C2A!

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When we first started Convo2Aspire, we didn’t have outside funding—we used our own hard-earned money to host our very first event. We knew we had something special to offer, but we didn’t have a big budget to work with. So, we took the plunge and invested in the event ourselves, hoping it would set the foundation for what was to come.
Once the event was a success, we reinvested the profits back into the business and into our community, which allowed us to keep the cycle going. Every time we hosted something new, we used the revenue to keep building, whether that meant hosting more events, creating valuable content, or providing resources for our growing audience. It was all about staying self-sufficient and growing organically, one step at a time.
