We were lucky to catch up with Kevin B Ploth recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin B , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
There are two. First THE GIANT not only is it personal but built around an amazing team of creatives, talent and peers.
It began from hearing the single by Shawn Parsons when up in the Catskills at Blue Fox and he played “Hell if I know”. From there the journey launched from thought to pre-production with distribution from Black Wolf Media Group. After many reworkings of the pilot season we are now at the final push.
Mind you now..I suffer severe dyslexia which is not only a constant challenge but always with me not always in a good way.
Hence why ARTIMIS is spelled the way it is.
From day one in the corner with me was Michael Sean McGuinness (plays villainous Mayor Vine), Doug Marcaida(Ace 2), my agent MJB Takent, Anthony DeLongis(Ace 1), Dr Aaron Ozee( New Anchor Al Simmons), Eli Jane(Sarah), Eddy Rich( Uncle George), Jackie McCarthy(Deputy Maria), Vanessa Thorpe(Deputy Dale), Kelley Poling(Deputy Jones) and on the production side we have two Directors of Photography Lawrence Gress, Doug LeBlanc, then JD Wesley, and Amanda Terry, David Diaz, Charlie Parish and Jordan Bennett. There are even companies from day one with some much support for veterans and what I am doing with THE GIANT. Patriot Tactical, PROPPER Uniforms, Collectors Armory and The Cigar Saver.
Then we have This Stitching Will Last documentary which is in the can and completely ready to go…
In the world of fashion, where trends come and go, some designs stand the test of time. Michael Braun’s creations are among those timeless pieces. That’s why the title “This Stitching Will Last” our works and deeds out live us. A story that truly sells “the cloths did make the men…” It made Macho Man Randy Savage. As Michael fondly says… “See you in the next world, and don’t be late..!” Michael reflects on his career, the impact of his work, and his advice for aspiring designers and artists everywhere. This project happened because of Dr Marty Urban, Lawerence Gress and David Diaz. With a amazing song “Your Hands Were Made for Stitching”
Written and performed by Lisa Gatewood back in 2021. Even the soundtrack by Fadi Khoury made it all come together.

Some of the biggest obstacles and trials for us in the beginning was doors shut in our face. One hard one was people whom I know and worked for were approached and sent them first treatment of THE GIANT and to quote…”…I won’t bother reading this and it is not what I am used to…plus go invest in Grammarly!” Sad part was they knew I had dyslexia. Well I moved on and here we are.
Next stage of the battles was getting companies to believe and trust us with their products. To the extent of representing them in a positive useful way. Not an easy task. To date I have personally written a total of three hundred plus pitches and mini Comercials showing how we will use products on the show.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
As a veteran, I’ve always understood the power of collective effort. The military taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and unwavering dedication. These values have been the cornerstone of my journey as a filmmaker and the driving force behind ARTIMIS Theatrical Productions LLC.
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative and owning a film and television production company is the opportunity to bring stories to life, to inspire, and to connect with audiences on a profound level. However, it’s not just about the final product; it’s about the journey, the collaboration, and the impact we can make.
At ARTIMIS, we believe in the power of community. We’re committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. By hiring veterans and first responders, we’re not just fulfilling a corporate responsibility; we’re building a team of individuals who share a unique perspective and a strong work ethic.
The truth is, I couldn’t have done it alone. I’ve been fortunate to work with incredibly talented individuals who have contributed to my success. From seasoned industry veterans to aspiring filmmakers, each person has played a vital role in shaping ARTIMIS.
The creative process is a collaborative effort. It’s about bouncing ideas off one another, challenging the status quo, and pushing the boundaries of storytelling. By fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation, we’re able to create truly unique and compelling content.
Ultimately, the most rewarding aspect of my work is knowing that we’re making a difference. Whether it’s through a thought-provoking drama, a heartwarming comedy, or a thrilling action adventure, we strive to create films and television shows that entertain, educate, and inspire.
As a veteran, I’m proud to be part of a company that values service, honor, and integrity. By sharing our stories and experiences, we hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I’ve learned firsthand the importance of strong leadership, effective communication, and fostering a positive work environment. Managing a large creative team can be a complex and challenging task, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.
One of the most crucial aspects of leadership is building trust and respect. By treating my team members with dignity and fairness, I’ve been able to create a culture of open communication and collaboration. I encourage my team to share their ideas, voice their concerns, and take ownership of their work. By empowering them, I’m not only motivating them but also fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose.
Maintaining high morale is essential for any creative team. When people are happy and engaged, they’re more productive and innovative. To achieve this, I prioritize work-life balance, recognize and reward achievements, and create opportunities for professional growth. By investing in my team’s well-being, I’m investing in the future of ARTIMIS.
Another key to effective leadership is adaptability. The entertainment industry is constantly evolving, and it’s important to be able to pivot and respond to change. By embracing new technologies, staying up-to-date on industry trends, and encouraging experimentation, we can stay ahead of the curve.
As a veteran, I’ve learned the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. These values have helped me navigate the challenges of running a production company. By instilling these values in my team, I’ve created a strong, resilient, and highly motivated workforce.
Ultimately, the success of ARTIMIS is a testament to the collective effort of our entire team. By working together, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve our shared goals. I’m proud to be part of such a talented and dedicated group of individuals.
