We were lucky to catch up with Tierra Goodman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tierra, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Hello, my name is Tierra Sager founder and Ceo of Harmony Health Boarding home, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for individuals in need of specialized care. We are dedicated to promoting physical, emotional, and mental well-being, empowering residents to live fulfilling lives with dignity, respect, and independence. Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
we specialize in mental health here at Harmony Health Boarding Homes. In my opinion here today, we don`t take mental health as serious as we should. Working in several Boarding Homes I have seen how the patients were being mistreated, not feed nor on the proper medication and basically misused. I prayed to God and asked him to give me a Boarding home so I can make a difference in the community, Here at Harmony Health Boarding Homes I strive for all my patient to be well taking care of. By providing transportation to the doctor, laundry service and three meals a day and even counseling service.
My clients love game night such as bingo!
we have the living room live!
They also love karaoke as well it allows then to let their inter-child out.
Here at Harmony Health, I listen to my patient I let them express their feeling we even get in the kitchen and cook and bake because it’s a calming method that some of them like.
I have one patient he loves his music, and he sing and dance till he falls asleep I love my patients here at harmony health and I love what I do!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The best strategy I have used is active listening. Do a criminal background check. If they take medication they have to be already under a doctor and have a treatment plan.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I learned early in the boarding home business is, I accepted a patient, and he did not have money to pay for his room and board, so I trusted him and allowed him to stay for free because he said he got ssi and he had caught the bus here from another state and he wanted a fresh start. So, I told him he could have a month free rent, so I made a Facebook post to get clothes and shoes for him. So, he stayed for a month and when it was time to pay that morning when the next month arrived, he stated he was going to the store and never returned. Later I learned that he goes from state to state get help once he has to pay, he would leave. I was more hurt than upset because I honestly wanted to help him, but I have to know that comes with the business that I am in. So, I prayed that he would find a safe home and a fresh start to help him get some stability.
