We were lucky to catch up with Ashlyn Marks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ashlyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
My journey to starting my business was inspired by my passion for both social media and aesthetic medicine. I’ve always had a deep love for aesthetics and wellness, and I knew I wanted to build a career in creative entrepreneurship while staying connected to that passion. In terms of social media marketing, I had years of experience managing social media accounts interning in social media marketing, and completing a certification in content marketing. Through these experiences, I began to see just how powerful social media could be when done right — especially as a tool for growing and elevating aesthetic and wellness businesses.
What excited me the most was the idea of helping these providers elevate their brands without losing their authenticity. I didn’t just want to run their social media accounts; I wanted to create a space where their work could shine and be celebrated. I wanted them to know that while they were making their patients glow with their treatments, I could make their social media glow with content that showcased their expertise.
There was a real need for this, and I felt like I could fill that gap. Many aesthetic providers were amazing at what they did, but they didn’t have the time or resources to give their social media the attention it deserved. Plus, it was more than just posting pretty pictures — it was about telling their story in a way that resonated with their audience. It was about building trust, creating connection, and showing the value behind their services.
I knew that social media was the modern version of word-of-mouth marketing, and in the beauty and wellness industry, reputation is everything. Patients want to know that they’re in good hands, and the way a provider presents themselves online plays a huge role in building that trust. The logic was simple: social media is a powerful tool, and if I could help aesthetic providers use it in a way that felt true to their brand and brought out the best in their work, it would help them connect with the right audience and ultimately succeed in their business.
Fast forward to now, and I’m so proud of how far my business has come. Every client I work with feels more like a partnership than just another project. We collaborate closely to ensure that their social media reflects their unique voice, expertise, and values. I want my clients to know that their work is seen and valued. Every time I see a post that makes a provider’s skills and talents shine, it’s a reminder of why I started this business in the first place.
My motto has always been, “While you make your patients glow, I make your socials glow!” It’s the essence of what I do. I help these incredible professionals stand out online in a way that feels authentic, impactful, and true to their brand.

Ashlyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I founded Se Aesthetics Social using my passions for aesthetics and wellness, along with my experience in social media marketing. I provide social media services that are tailored to the unique needs of aesthetic and wellness providers. This includes social media management, social media strategy, and content creation.
The problem I solve for my clients is simple: I help them make their social media as polished and professional as the work they do in person. Many of the professionals I work with are incredibly skilled, but they don’t always have the time, energy, or expertise to manage their social media accounts effectively. I handle that for them, so they can focus on what they do best — providing excellent care and treatments to their patients. At the same time, I ensure that their work gets the recognition it deserves online.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media was definitely a journey. I wanted to build a genuine community of people who resonated with my brand, my message, and the services I offered. So, I approached it from a place of authenticity and consistency.
The first step was really defining what I wanted my brand to represent. I knew I wanted to stand out in the wellness and aesthetic space, but I also knew that I had to be clear about my niche: helping aesthetic and wellness providers elevate their social media presence. So I started by creating content that was both educational and engaging, focusing on tips for improving social media strategies, creating beautiful content, and building authentic online communities.
Next, I focused on consistency. I knew that showing up regularly was key to building momentum, so I made it a point to post consistently. I also made sure my content was visually cohesive, with a style and tone that reflected my brand. It wasn’t about posting every single day, but about creating a rhythm that felt manageable and sustainable, while still keeping my audience engaged.
As for advice for anyone just starting to build their social media presence, here are a few tips:
Know Your Niche
Find your niche and stick to it. It’s tempting to try to be everything to everyone, but people follow accounts that resonate with their specific interests. Define what you stand for, and make sure your content speaks to that.
Consistency is Key
Whether it’s once a day or a few times a week, posting consistently is critical. The more you show up, the more your audience will come to trust that you’re reliable and engaged.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has definitely been referrals and word-of-mouth.
When my clients started seeing the positive impact of my work on their social media presence, they were eager to share their experience with others. That organic word-of-mouth, combined with personal testimonials and client success stories, became a huge driver of new business for me.
