We recently connected with Tatiana Skroskis and have shared our conversation below.
Tatiana , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Initially when I was going to go to college I was going to pursue law, and intuitively something told me to just go to art school. In life, like many people I was always torn on taking a “responsible” path versus taking an expressive one. I went to art school and graduated, and life did not pan out the way I was hoping for my plans for becoming a celebrity photographer and artist. I began to surrender instead of resisting and ended up going what I felt “off course”, which then later on I would understand that the universe would be granting me my “Eat, Pray, Love” moment to find myself amidst feeling like I was failing myself, others and my purpose. It was in those moments my calling and destiny came to me to help people through my words, and I was still feeling a lot of imposter syndrome. Years before I wanted to share my words and heart and wisdom and didn’t feel good enough or worthy enough or that people would even care. That was in 2011. In 2017, I finally got over myself and started to follow my heart in taking risks to be a conduit of spirit and use my words to inspire, guide and help others through their shadows and confusion in life. MY LIFE FOREVER CHANGED, and what I had been resisting taking a risk on for years, panned out to be my destiny and what I was born here to do. Now I help others take calculated, intentional risks towards their happiness and destiny, no matter how big or small the steps are. TRAP for me in the TRAP WITCH stands for (Take Risk And Prosper) WITCH (Woman In Total Control of Herself)

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Tatiana Skroskis aka The Trap Witch is an intuitive healer/therapist that specializes in transformation, confidence and embodiment coaching. At the core of her expression, she is an Olorisha (Priestess of the Traditional African Religion of Santeria) and it comes across in everything that she applies herself to. Tatiana’s area’s of passion are shadow/middle work that helps people work through subconscious blockages, stigmas, addictions and helping people understand sexual energy in relation to spirituality. She also teaches people to heal trauma and codependency through understanding ancestral healing. She believes in exhibiting a profound communication style to cut through the BS and deliver spiritual healing in a heart felt and accessible way instead of over intellectualizing it. Tatiana got into her craft after taking an inner sabbatical after dropping out of her masters program for commercial photography, and when she realized she was not happy with the path that she thought she wanted to pursue. I am most proud of seeing my clients through the process from the tests of their life to testimony. I love being a leader creating more of the future’s leaders. I am most proud of when those who look to me can find a piece of themselves by being a safe space for them to remember who they are. My brand thrives most by bringing women’s inner goddesses and bad-assert back to life.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Integrity and being no fluff. Firstly I thrived by being honest about a lot of topics that people love to sugar coat that have held us back as a community in healing. I also believe that there’s many paths to get to success and sometimes people want to create illusions to protect themselves because they believe people will not respect their truth. I believe we can thrive and inspire by living in our authenticity and creating alliances, networks and community through doing so. Our foundation determines our future, and having a strong foundation built on truth, allows us to play the long game a lot better!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I learnt that as soon as we often living in our confidence and our purpose, we can be met with adversity. There are going to be many times as soon as we gain our momentum, that tests, especially through the forms of other people come to knock the wind from our wings. This happened to me in many ways, shapes and forms, from multiple angles, and what I learnt was that it wasn’t about these people mistreating me, it was about them sharpening my iron. Those people were sent as tests to shatter my confidence, but I had to allow them to show me how strong it is. So many people don’t recognize adversity, especially through others can be a test of resilience, especially in our emotional, mental and spiritual health!
