Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendi Eiden
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My sister and I talked about opening our own business for years. Through hard work and passion, we finally achieved our dream! We have been open for 5 years now this month!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Initially our first attempt was derailed by my cancer diagnosis. It took a few years to get back on track. Once we opened up it was a slow start being new and all.
Of course after that we hit Covid and had to close down for almost 4 months! These past nine months have been trying as well, Lansing is building a new bridge and the bridge moved so they had to shut down for months. Our town took a huge hit with that. Also, the Mississippi river flooding our area into July, just as our tour season started to ramp up.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Cheesecake is my specialty! I love creating and putting together flavor combinations that are unique. We do specialty dinner events now, 4 and 5 course prefix menu. I feel I have grown as a Chef and business owner throughout the last few years. I am humbled by the praise from our guests!
What does success mean to you?
We are mindful of our community and our role in our town. We hope to provide a positive experience that reflects well in our surrounding area. We value our guests and our wonderful staff. We hope to provide a service that is unique in our area. We are hopeful that our business continues to grow, Along with our community. I guess I would define success by every happy customer and five star review, and the fact that we’re still here!
