Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Mangelson

Monica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

Austin and I met in college and fell in love over our mutual love for travel and adventure. As we were getting ready to graduate college we decided that we wanted to delay getting “real” jobs and applied for jobs in the Peace Corps where we were eventually assigned to head to Mozambique Africa for 2 years.

In preparation to leave we sold most of our stuff, got rid of our housing contract and packed our suitcases. Two weeks before departure Covid shut down the PC and suddenly we found ourselves jobless and homeless.

Luckily Austin’s parents took us in and we found dead end jobs working in senior health care. And we waited… and waited.

Nine months went by without word from the PC. Meanwhile our sprits were at an all time low.

After one particularly hard day at work I decided that I was done being angry, and done waiting for someone else to tell me that I could live my life again.

So I started looking for ways to make money online. Eventually I convinced Austin to join the business and we started traveling the world together.

Now we are full time travelers. I am a Certified Life Purpose Coach who loves blending mindset with the neuroscience behind it, speaker, and podcast host. Austin is a remote data analyst by day and my podcast manager/cohost/ book keeper/ integrator by night.

Together we have built a beautiful life full of adventure, good food and friends around the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I wish!

There have been tons of struggles! From low income months, to major business pivots, to ER visits with load of medical bills following… it’s been a wild ride.

I am a certified Life Purpose Coach who specializes in blending the neuroscience with the “woo”. I love learning about what makes people tick and helping them find ways to make the most out of this beautiful life. I use what I have learned in my travels around the world to help my clients dream bigger, reach new heights, and create a life that they are truly proud of.

I guide my clients through personalized coaching using principles grounded in neuroscience to empower intentional living and goal achievement.

I am super proud of the community we’ve built. We have a stellar community of people working to create their dream life. We are down to earth and practical. We support each other and are always working to better ourselves.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?

As a kid I was pretty quiet, afraid to rock the boat. I was the second oldest of six kids so I spent a lot of time caring for little ones and helping out around the house. I loved spending time outside, day dreaming, baking, doodling, and spending time with friends. But I was always happiest on the water (kayaking, tubing, swimming, white water rafting, etc.)
