GIOTHAAGOATT, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
I often feel misunderstood and mischaracterized because people see you on a TV screen and they assume that im a mean person or that I wanna fight and that is not the case. I am one of the most friendly, loving, caring and kind people you will ever meet. I love love. I’m such a lover and not a fighter, but unfortunately, people will not. Let me live up moments when I was young and misguided, and then the second time when I lost my mother due to cancer on reality TV and the whole world judged me instead of trying to empathize with me and what I was going through it hurt and because of that I was really depressed for a long time and never spoke to anybody about it until I decided to get my self out of my ownhole of darkness and that lasted for almost an entire year

GIOTHAAGOATT, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well, my name is Gio and I am most known for my time on the circle New York City web reality series which dug into my real life, love and friend spectrums amongst a group of people all over New York from all different walks of life and just expected to come together and become one big friend group and of course being in the gay community. It just always seems to be a cool kids table and a competition when we all share a lot of the same common things if we really stripped down all of the egos in the façades, I was a Instagram influencer long before I went on TV. I used to make a lot of funny videos I used to make inspirational quote videos just a lot of content on my Instagram on my Facebook page and people used to tell me all the time that I should monetize and expand my platform and that’s what I did and when I started to see that people would pay attention to me, and that a lot of people were entertained by just me owning who I was and trying to get into a joke that people really wanted to see me. It wasn’t until I got older and really saw how people get the money coming in that I want to turn this into something that was profitable that I wanted to have a business that I wanted to turn me as an entity into a brand and expand on that but outside from that I’m music artist. I am a model. I’ve done a lot of nude body artwork, which is a field, not often traveled due to the negative connotations behind it, but it was the first area of modeling which allowed me to get my foot in the doorway because I’m not tall enough to do mainstream modeling, but I do owe a huge shout out to project skinny boys because they helped me out a lot although I was never directly signed to them the front runner of that business. Definitely made sure that I was always in good hands. I always had opportunities and always was pointed in the right direction when it came to this industry. My biggest platform right now would definitely be Instagram. That is what I use the most. That is where people can connect with me the most, and that is why people can expect to see the most content. I do find Instagram to be the most lucrative platform out of all the available platforms that I use and are currently aware of due to a lot of the functions and just use the presets that I have available here. I feel very comfortable with this platform, but I am not opposed to expanding my platforms two more areas. It’s just a matter of finding that right marketing team that right Management team to get behind and get with me to be able to make those next steps, the things that I most proud of is everything that I have accomplished which you can see on my Instagram page. I’ve been able to be in commercials. I’ve done projects for the Department of New York State for HIV and age I’ve done an HIV stops with me campaign. I’ve done a commercial for club lambda, the gay pride editionwhich is a lounge and club chain owned by black entrepreneurs that are gay in the New York area, so definitely shout out to them. i’ve been able to model. I’ve been able to walk the runway on several fashion shows. I’ve also been able to get booked on other shows. I’ve also been able to make guest appearances. I’ve also just been able to really put myself out there in and network and push me so that is what I’m most grateful for

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most recording aspect of this business and area of entertainment is honestly the support that you get from the people that really find what you do entertaining inspiring fun cool whatever words you wanna use to describe their experience with what you do and how it makes them feel. It’s just such a feeling. I cannot explain to have people come up to you and tell you. Oh they saw you on TV. Oh they listen to your music. Oh, they watched a video in it and it helped them in some kind of way and it inspired them and it got them through tough times so they were able to understand a story. You were trying to tell and all of these Things that you were able to do and how much you were able to help people that you’ve never even met a day in your life, but because you as an artist have the ability to create, you’ve not only created a piece of artwork for people to enjoy, but you’ve now created a safe space for people to talk about whatever it is that you have going on and we can all relate on it and find some sort of closure, comfort and growth in that. It’s a beautiful thing. I feel personally. We live in dark times of people are not healing themselves so I feel like my job is to just brighten up the world a little bit more with my fun, my comedy, my music, and then watching me be resilient, which is giving them the power to be resilient and we’re just a powerful force when united

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Am I opinion? I do feel like society can do a few things I would like to start with the fact of just basic support. You know there’s a lot of platforms out here that allow artist and creative to express themselves, but people are just so closed off to people in their new ideas until it becomes fetch and somebody has to make it happen. I miss the time where Anybody could be creative and it will be seen as awesome or cool. Now it’s like you have to go above and beyond your creative direction to prove yourself as an artist and an artist is gonna be an artist, no matter what. and yes, you should strive to always push harder, but I feel like everybody sees these mainstream artist or creative and expect everybody to be just like that, but that’s not how people got recognized. At first. They got recognized for being themselves and I want everybody to just remember to be OK being themselves and for the community and the people that support us just love us support us and continue to support us because it’s hard. Everybody doesn’t wake up every day with the spirit to do this. It’s just not humanly normal. Sometimes you don’t wanna do this. Sometimes you don’t have to but we get up and we do it because we love what we do. I would imagine that people that are artists and creative. Do what they do because they love what they do too. I would like for them to be more spaces for us to create an artist to be artist, it’s hard out here. Everything can be done independently now, so I feel like all the gatekeeping should really stop open up and let the new wave of creativity, artistry, and talent come through and watch the overflow
