Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Susanna Corriveau. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Susanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client?
The best advice that I give to my real estate clients, centers on empowering them with knowledge, patience, and clarity in their goals. Here are key points I use to guide them:
1. Know Your Goals: Whether buying, selling, or investing, I encourage my clients to clarify their priorities—budget, location, size, or timeline. This helps streamline the process and ensures they stay focused on what truly matters.
2. Understand the Market: I educate clients on the current market conditions and debunk any myths, misconceptions or false realities surrounding what my clients think they know about the market. Whether it’s a buyer’s or seller’s market, setting realistic expectations for pricing, competition, and timing will help my clients make better-informed decisions.
3. Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage: For buyers, pre-approval strengthens their offer and makes them more competitive. It also gives them a clear understanding of their budget and what monthly payments will look like.
4. Think Long-Term: I advise my clients to consider future resale value and neighborhood growth potential. Even if it’s a “forever home,” it’s wise to evaluate how the property will hold its value.
5. Be Open-Minded and Flexible: I encourage clients to be adaptable. They may need to adjust their criteria slightly or consider neighborhoods they hadn’t originally thought of.
6. Don’t Skip Inspections: Inspections can reveal critical information about a property’s condition. Even if the market is competitive, inspections protect my clients from costly surprises.
7. Trust the Process (and the Professional): I reassure my clients that with my expertise, they have a trusted partner who understands the market and can navigate potential pitfalls, negotiations, and emotions.
8. Stay Patient and Don’t Rush: Buying or selling a home is a major decision. I encourage my clients to make a move when it feels right for their financial and personal situation rather than rushing due to pressure.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My real estate career began very naturally; having moved during my entire childhood I knew what attracted people to certain locations or areas. When I met my husband, he had been buying and selling investment properties for many years and it was all very intriguing to me. My husband is a contractor and builder, so real estate is in his blood. I have had the opportunity of living in four countries. My experience of living in four different countries has allowed me to develop excellent communication and collaboration skills. I view each client, whether they are buying or selling, as unique and handle their needs on a personal basis. With all the diversity in my life, I am respectful, appreciative, understanding and considerate. My husband and I have been buying and selling investment properties for many years. We also own many rental properties in surrounding towns and the lakes region, which I assist in managing. I have an “eye” for seeing a property at its full potential, beyond just the cosmetic appeal. I am very detail orientated and organized. Whether you’re up sizing, downsizing, re-sizing or investing, I’ll help make your real estate goals a reality. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with my three children, and my husband. We enjoy entertaining, vacationing and being by the water. We have been living in Bedford, New Hampshire since 2009, we love this town and everything it has to offer our family. I am passionate about real estate and all it has to offer, specifically, making a house, a home!
My two greatest strengths are marketing through multiple media outlets and negotiating with confidence by implementing data and research to achieve the end goal. Every transaction is unique and will be tailored to fit the needs of each individual client.
I have the proven ability to generate and curate business through networking and prospecting. I am proud of my success as a top-producer. My business partner and I are #1 Small Team in NH for Coldwell Banker. We are #2 Real Estate Team in Bedford, NH . We are ranked #3 in Hillsborough County and #8 in the State of NH. We have sold over 60 units in 12 months, with $44,000,000 in sales in 2023. Our average sales price is $755,000 compared to $464,000 for all agents in Hillsborough County. What distinguishes me from other Realtors is my desire to succeed. Real estate is my passion and going above and beyond is all I know.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Reputation is crucial in the real estate industry. Realtors rely on their reputation to attract clients and secure deals. I look at “Trust” as the currency of the real estate realm, and my reputation is the vault in which it’s stored. Clients and investors alike seek out real estate professionals with a track record of reliability and honesty. Positive word-of-mouth endorsements and testimonials play a pivotal role in establishing, fostering and enhancing my credibility. Positive experiences and successful transactions become the building blocks of a solid reputation.
My positive reputation leads to more referrals and repeat business, which has helped me to thrive in this business. Real estate professionals constantly face the challenge of upholding their reputation while engaging in their day-to-day operations. I successfully balance the need to close profitable transactions and maximize returns with the ethical responsibility of treating clients with a transparent fiduciary duty. In pursuit of my success, I walk a fine line between aggressive sales tactics and maintaining a good reputation. Pushing the boundaries too far can risk damaging credibility and long-term success. I am also mindful of potential legal issues that could harm my reputation. Compliance with regulations, fair housing laws, and ethical norms is paramount to ensure a positive perception among clients and the public. My stellar reputation attracts a diverse clientele and fosters long-term relationships, essential for repeat business and referrals.
Here are some key points that helped build and maintain my reputation.
1. Ethical conduct and transparency: I act with integrity and honesty to gain trust.
2. Quality of service and customer satisfaction: I provide exceptional service to clients.
3. Professionalism and expertise: I demonstrate knowledge and skills in the industry.
4. Community involvement and social responsibility: I engage with the community and giving back.
5. Engage in Open Communication and Conflict Resolution. I successfully navigate disputes to showcase a commitment to client satisfaction, reinforcing a positive reputation.
By utilizing the strategies outlined above, I provide a comprehensive framework for upholding my reputation.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I earned my BS degree in Elementary Education/Special Education and BA degree in Developmental Psychology from Keene State College in 2005. I taught at a private school for a few years before teaching at an inner city school for over ten years. I earned my real estate license in 2016. After juggling two careers; real estate and teaching, and having my third child, it was time to put my energy where my passion was. When I first came into the business of real estate, a lot of my fellow agents said that teachers make top-notch agents. Teaching has taught me that organization and meeting deadlines is essential. Also, being creative, detail orientated and dedicated, is key. Teaching has also taught me to implement good negotiation and communication skills. Also, not to mention, I can handle multiple tasks and demands. Lastly, having a degree in Psychology really helps tap into the emotions of a real estate transaction, and how to read people and communicate with them effectively.
