One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was when I began delving into the entertainment industry as an interviewer. Early on, I realized how powerful and impactful it can be to bring someone’s story to life. Every artist has a unique journey, and I became passionate about uncovering and sharing these narratives. One particular experience that stands out was interviewing an artist who, at the time, was just launching a new musical project. It was her first interview, and the excitement and nervousness in her voice made the moment so real and raw.

Fast forward a few months, and that same artist is now a Latin Grammy nominee. Knowing that I was part of her journey from the beginning and had the chance to showcase her vision and passion to the world was incredibly meaningful. It taught me the impact of being a platform for rising voices and made me realize that our voices, as journalists, hold more significance than we often think. We’re not just sharing information; we’re empowering, uplifting, and connecting.

My name is Malau Quintero, and I’m an entertainment journalist, host, and creative storyteller dedicated to amplifying the voices of artists and creatives in the entertainment industry. My journey began with a love for communication and a deep connection to music. I pursued a Journalism degree at the University of Palermo in Argentina, which gave me a solid foundation to explore my passion for storytelling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of combining my skills in journalism, content creation, and strategy to build a career that bridges the worlds of creativity and communication.

My work focuses on highlighting the stories behind the music, art, and projects that shape the Latin entertainment industry. I specialize in interviewing artists and creative professionals, writing in-depth articles, producing content for social media and digital platforms, and hosting bilingual segments on TV, radio, and online. One of my proudest achievements has been creating and hosting Just For The Record, a podcast that celebrates the voices of emerging and established Latin artists, showcasing their journeys and creative processes.

My approach is deeply rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a relentless drive to uncover the stories that matter. Whether it’s helping artists align their personal brands with their creative visions, working behind the scenes to strategize for a project launch, or interviewing someone for the first time in their career, my focus is always on building bridges and creating opportunities for meaningful conversations.

I’m incredibly proud of the relationships I’ve built within the industry and the trust I’ve earned as someone who cares about authenticity. One of the most fulfilling moments of my career was realizing that my interviews and platform have been pivotal in giving artists their first opportunity to share their work. Witnessing those same individuals rise to significant milestones, such as Grammy nominations, reminds me why I do what I do.

There’s a clear mission driving my creative journey. My goal is to amplify my platform to continue shining a light on the stories and talents of artists, especially those shaping the Latin entertainment industry. I want to create opportunities for collaboration with other creatives and professionals who share the same passion for storytelling, music, and innovation.

For me, it’s about building a space where authentic voices are heard, where the hard work behind every project is celebrated, and where emerging talents have a chance to connect with audiences on a deeper level. By growing my platform, I aim to bridge gaps between creatives, industries, and audiences, fostering an environment where impactful stories can be told and dreams can take flight.

This mission is what fuels my drive to continuously evolve, learn, and expand my work. It’s about contributing to an industry that not only entertains but also inspires and uplifts.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

I wish I had realized earlier in my journey that it’s okay to take the time to figure out what truly lights you up. The pressure to have everything figured out early on can feel overwhelming, but the truth is, the journey is just as important as the destination.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the power of networking and building genuine, deep connections. While passion and hard work can take you far, having the right people supporting you and sharing your vision can elevate your projects to incredible heights. Collaboration opens doors, introduces new perspectives, and creates opportunities that wouldn’t be possible on your own.

If I could go back, I’d remind myself to invest in relationships, seek out mentors, and never hesitate to ask questions or ask for help. Those connections are often the bridge between an idea and its full realization.
