We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Caitlyn Fox. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Caitlyn below.
Alright, Caitlyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
I feel incredibly blessed to have the parents I do. Growing up, they always emphasized the importance of following our passions, a principle they’ve lived by themselves. They always told us to “do what you love”. My parents pursued their true callings, even when it meant going against societal or familial expectations. So they never pressured me or my siblings to conform to traditional norms. Of course, they wanted us to have an education and excel in life but they wholeheartedly supported whatever interests or hobbies we wanted to explore. Their unwavering support has been a constant source of inspiration in my life.
They made me believe that even my wildest dreams were within reach, and if things didn’t work out, I’d always have a home to come back to.
Whenever I feel lost or struggle to keep going, it’s my parents who remind me why I started this journey. When I first told them I wanted to pursue acting, they never laughed or doubted me. They fully supported me because they knew it was something I loved.
To put it simply, having unconditional support has been everything. Knowing that when I fall flat on my face, there are people I love ready to pick me up has been my greatest comfort. What did my parents do right? I never felt pressured to be someone I wasn’t or to follow paths I didn’t want. Instead, they gave me the freedom to figure out who I am and what I love while standing right behind me. That freedom is what has really shaped me into the person I am today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hi everyone, I’m Caitlyn Fox, and I’m an actress. My journey began in musical theater and dance, where I fell in love with performing. I adored everything about it—being backstage, watching rehearsals, dancing, and acting on stage in front of an audience. The thrill of creating art and drawing strangers into a story we were telling was like nothing I’d ever experienced.
So far, I’ve worked exclusively in film, including short films and indie features, but I’m excited to branch out. I’d love to explore TV or even return to theater someday. Genre-wise, I’m open to it all—horror, action, comedy, romance—you name it. I’m passionate about diving into a variety of roles and just having fun with the craft.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
For my fellow actors, I highly recommend reading The Actor’s Life: A Survival Guide by Jenna Fischer. This book captures the ups and downs of our journey—everything we go through but rarely talk about. It made me feel less alone in the struggles and is incredibly motivational and insightful. It’s a helpful read for anyone navigating acting in LA.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
For anyone, especially entrepreneurs, I’m a huge podcast fan, and I highly recommend The Ed Mylett Show. His episodes are filled with great, inspirational messages and encouragement. What I love most is the wide range of guests he brings on—each with their own unique background and perspective. Definitely check out one of his episodes.
