We recently connected with Chantal Mcculligh and have shared our conversation below.
Chantal, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Mental health has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve lived with anxiety and panic disorder since I was 7 years old, and those experiences shaped not just who I am, but what I feel deeply called to do. Helping others through their struggles has always been at the core of who I am. It’s not just a missionl it’s my heart and soul.
One of my earlier memories is setting up a little desk in my house with a notepad and our landline phone. I begged my parents to put an ad in the newspaper to let other kids know they could call me if they were sad or needed a friend. I had no idea how to “fix” anything, I just wanted to listen, to help, and to let them know they weren’t alone. Looking back, I see that moment as the very beginning of what would eventually become Anxiety Gone.
For a while, I thought the only way to help was by becoming a counselor or psychologist, but life had a different plan. At 20 years old, I found myself diving into freelance writing, which led to a successful digital marketing career. But even with that success, something was missing;I wasn’t fulfilled. That passion for helping others, especially those dealing with anxiety and mental health struggles, never went away.
Eventually, I decided to combine my personal experiences with my professional skills, and that’s how Anxiety Gone came to life. It started as a dream – a way to offer tools, resources, and support to people like me who needed to feel seen and understood. Today, it’s grown into so much more, and I couldn’t be prouder.
At the end of the day, Anxiety Gone isn’t just a business. It’s a part of me. It’s a way to remind people that healing is possible, that they’re not alone, and that even in the darkest moments, there’s light waiting to be found. That’s why this mission means so much to me: it’s personal, it’s real, and it’s everything I’ve always wanted to give to the world.

Chantal, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always believed that mental health isn’t just something we “deal with”; it’s something we can actively nurture and care for. That belief has shaped every aspect of Anxiety Gone. From our fidget jewelry and calming tools to crystals, affirmation cards, and anxiety workbooks, every product is handpicked with one goal in mind: to help people feel more grounded and supported in their everyday lives.
But Anxiety Gone is more than just a shop. It’s a space where people can feel seen and validated. One of the biggest challenges with anxiety is feeling alone in your struggle, and I’ve worked hard to create a brand that reminds people they’re never alone. Through our blog, social media platforms, and resources, we aim to educate, inspire, and build a sense of community around mental wellness.
What truly sets Anxiety Gone apart is our deeply personal approach. This isn’t just a business for me, as mentioned previously. It’s my heart in action. I’ve walked this path myself (and still am) and know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate anxiety without the right tools or support. That lived experience allows me to connect with our community on a level that goes beyond selling products.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how many people have found comfort and relief through what we offer. Whether it’s hearing that a crystal has become their daily anchor or that a workbook helped them make it through a tough day, those moments of connection remind me why I started this journey.
For anyone new to Anxiety Gone, my hope is that you’ll find not just tools for anxiety relief but also a sense of belonging. This is a space created for you – with love, empathy, and the understanding that mental health is a journey, not a destination.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my audience has been building a trustworthy and authentic brand through social media. Platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook have allowed me to connect with my audience in a way that feels personal and genuine. My approach isn’t just about promoting products, as I focus more on creating a space where people feel understood and supported in their mental health journey. I allow that to bring in the sales.
I prioritize showing up consistently with valuable, relatable content that resonates with my audience. Whether it’s sharing anxiety tips, highlighting tools that have personally helped me, or simply engaging in meaningful conversations, I aim to build trust by being real and transparent. Social media has also been a great way to showcase our products in action and share customer testimonials, which helps build credibility.
Another key has been listening to my audience. By understanding their challenges and needs, I’ve been able to create content and products that truly meet them where they are. That two-way connection has been a game-changer in building a loyal and growing community.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my personable and relatable approach has been one of the biggest factors in building my reputation. I’ve always made it a priority to connect with my audience on a human level; sharing my own struggles with anxiety, being vulnerable, and showing that I truly understand where they’re coming from. It’s important to me that my community feels like they’re not just customers, but part of something bigger.
Customer experience has also been a huge focus. Whether it’s answering questions, providing personalized product recommendations, or ensuring a flawless shopping experience, I want everyone who interacts with Anxiety Gone to feel supported and cared for.
I think what sets me apart is the genuine care I have for the people I serve. That authenticity has resonated with people and helped me build a reputation as someone who truly “gets it” when it comes to mental health.
