Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Genov
Hi Anna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I founded my Financial Literacy Non-Profit organization, Money Lessons for Teens help kids achieve a brighter financial future and develop good financial habits. I mentor them the important steps in making financial decisions and understanding the value of money. My goal is to equalize financial opportunity with education.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a financial literacy non-profit had its challenges. In the beginning I struggled finding an audience. However, I was motivated by the importance of my mission and I emailed countless institutions and schools asking if they were interested in a lesson. After hard work, my mission was recognized.
As you know, we’re big fans of Money Lessons for Teens. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I teach financial literacy. My website offers videos and podcasts that cover topics such as budgeting, saving, and investment. My in person lessons are free and I offer classes in German, English and Spanish. I’ve presented to over 500 individuals, from over 15 institutions, across 2 continents.
