Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Hughes
Hi Erin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into photography began during my senior year of high school when I took my first photography class. That passion evolved into two college degrees focused on art and photography. Throughout the years, while working a variety of jobs, I always kept photography close, pursuing it on the side. Each job and every person I encountered led to new connections, opening doors to more opportunities. Ultimately, these experiences inspired me to turn my passion into a business, specializing in real estate photography.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a rough road, but rather that the timing wasn’t always right. I needed to go through the experiences between graduating college and working various jobs to reach where I am today. The real challenges I faced were internal—battling self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy. Those struggles were necessary for my growth, shaping both my journey and who I’ve become as a professional.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a photographer with a focus on real estate, helping showcase properties in their best light. In addition to that, I have a passion for capturing portraits, whether it’s family photos, senior sessions, or professional headshots. I take pride in delivering images that truly reflect my clients’ personalities and needs.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and ability to adapt my style to suit different settings, from real estate to personal portraits. I’m proud of the trust my clients place in me and the relationships I build along the way. It’s that connection, combined with my technical expertise, that makes my work stand out.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There have been so many people who deserve credit. My family and close friends have always been there for me, cheering me on every step of the way. My high school art teacher, Ms. Joyce, is someone I’m incredibly grateful for—she sparked my love for art, and even after 25 years, we’re still in touch.
Liz Moore, the president of Liz Moore & Associates, has also played a pivotal role in my journey. She hired me 10 years ago and has always believed in me, encouraging me to pursue my passions, which led to where I am today.
And of course, my customers—who are more like friends—are a huge part of my success. Their loyalty and support have been invaluable, and I owe so much of what I’ve accomplished to them.
