Today we’d like to introduce you to Jfl Productions
Jfl , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We started as 3 broke college friends (Justin Dickey/ Frederick Russell & Leon Holly) pursuing our dreams & figuring out what we wanted to do outside of college. Justin was the photographer, Frederick was the director & Leon was the videographer. One day playing around we decided to do a photo shoot using all of our skills. This shoot allowed us to land our first big collab with a clothing company called “LuvLost Clothing”.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it’s been a fun road. “
Justin- “One of my biggest struggles is I’m very introverted and sometimes struggle with giving people poses for pictures. This is something I still struggle with today and I continue to get better little by little each day”
Frederick- “Production was something new to me. Directing and marketing was always my thing. As the company has grown and so have my role. I will say my troubles being behind the camera have helped learn more about production & directing”
Leon- “Being apart of JFL was a learning curve for me, my original background wasn’t in videography so I didn’t know as much. As the years have gone by, I have fallen in love with the process.”
We’ve been impressed with JFL Productions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At JFL we live by and stand by our company slogan “Just Free Livin”. We live freely through production and help others do the same by providing good quality photography, videography, drone, & marketing services. To companies, entrepreneurs, entertainers, influencers and everyday people.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Justin – “The biggest thing I learned was networking. Networking has allowed me to connect with like minded people. Networking has also taught me that I’m further along then I like to give myself credit for.”
Frederick – “In this journey we have added people to our team and I moved out of Pennsylvania to Texas. So for me the biggest lesson I had to learn was communication.”
Leon – “The process is the most important thing I’ve learned about. Before I always expected things to happen easily. I realized with JFL good things take time & you can’t rush the process”
