Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Vojtas

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

While obtaining certification for addiction counseling, I worked in an addictions treatment facility as a group facilitator. I began seeing patterns of disconnection, individuals lacking secure attachments, and an absence of creative self expression. This motivated me to obtain my degree in psychology. I then went on to a Master’s program, when something shifted. I realized that although traditional psychotherapy can be beneficial and life saving, it still had many limiting elements to the type of healing work that I knew would profoundly and sustainably change people’s lives. I knew there had to be a way for people (especially from disadvantaged groups), to heal themselves.

I also knew that the ethical integrity of alternative modalities would be questionable, as I was stepping into an unregulated field. This became my first priority – to apply not only my training in ethics, but also evidenced based practices to blend science with the intuitive arts.

I became a reiki practitioner, and then later a reiki master. During this time I also learned to trust my intuition in a new way and was able to channel messages psychically. These messages lend support and give loving insight on the next steps of healing.

I began teaching reiki, emphasizing the importance of ethical practices and cultural context (as reiki is deeply rooted in Shinto & Animism). I soon realized that it was also my responsibility to not solely rely on another culture’s modality of healing, which allowed me to discover energy healing within my own lineage.

What has emerged is OHEŇ. Slovak for fire, OHEŇ pays homage to my own personal heritage, while also encompassing the transformative nature of the work. Fire is both the creator and destroyer. It can challenge and nurture. It teaches us that if we move beyond our fears, we can be transformed and reborn. I have been through the fire, and it would be my honor to witness you through your process.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

For the most part it I’ve experienced organic growth at a steady pace which has felt really affirming. There are of course some lessons that have been learned along the way, but I feel as if when you step into the alignment of your true path, the ease outweighs any struggles.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I specialize in Energy Healing, utilizing Reiki as the framework of my modality. I host annual retreats, trainings, and private sessions where profound transformative healing takes place. I’m most proud of my trainings that I offer, as it’s my greatest honor to share the wealth of abundance this work brings. In this unregulated (and whitewashed community) it’s my mission to help cultivate ethical, trauma informed students, who connect with their own lineage of healing.
