Today we’d like to introduce you to Quania Jones

Hi Quania, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

I was born in the city of San Francisco, California, and spent part of my childhood in the Fillmore district. Growing up, I was always surrounded by entertainment – my mom was a model and a hip hop dancer/stepper, and my dad is a street legend. I attended Saint Anthony’s Catholic school, but the turning point in my life came when we visited a public elementary school that featured a popular play. I was only 6 or 7 years old, but in that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

From then on, I immersed myself in every dance, theater, and music program I could find, all the way through college. At 12, my cousin invited me to be in a fashion show, and as soon as I stepped onto the runway, I felt an overwhelming rush, much like the thrill of theater. I was hooked! I started connecting with various photographers, and one of them asked me to be his muse. We collaborated for years, and he taught me so much.

When I moved to West Oakland in high school, I commuted daily to James Logan. This school pushed my boundaries and introduced me to even more art forms. They helped me sharpen my skills. In college, I discovered MySpace, and that’s when things really started to change. I realized it was more than just a platform for reconnecting with old friends – people that didn’t know me started following my page!

I shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of my on-set lifestyle, which then transitioned to Facebook and finally Instagram. There was a growing trend of people wanting to see my content, so I turned my social media into a visual diary and lifestyle platform. This led to marketing deals with hotels, real estate companies, clothing and beauty brands, and travel opportunities.

Now, I’m proudly signed with Stars the Agency & Stars Management, I couldn’t be happier with where this journey has taken me, but I’m just getting started!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

It’s never been easy, all of my training was rigorous. A lot of blood sweat and tears. My life experiences have helped prepare me for the work I’m doing now. Sometimes I have 4 events to cover in a week while also having other content deadlines to meet for sponsorships a music video and a photoshoot. My work includes video and photo editing, acting, marketing, writing, modeling and so many skills into one. I do each task myself. The show must go on even if you don’t feel well or have a death in the family. It’s hardcore in a way, so you have to be ready. It also attracts the attention of Cyber bullies and Internet Trolls. I usually block them. It took practice and conditioning to not respond to their comments. Then there are the pressures of keeping your image on point. I’m curvy and I love good food so it takes discipline.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I’m an Influencer, model, and lifestyle Columnist. I have an acting and dance background. My specialty is Lifestyle with a fashion flare. I showcase places to go and things to do. I’m most proud of where I am in my career. A lot of people that I grew up with are no longer living. Spending another day doing the things I love is a blessing. I don’t take it for granted. I think that’s where my fire comes from. My drive sets me apart and the willingness to step outside of the box. I come from a different type of background than most influencers. I apply everything I’ve learned to my work.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?

I’m spiritual so I believe that things happen when they are supposed to. Everyone has a calling, some may be ready to pursue there’s and some may not. I believe every lesson could be learned from, good or bad. Life helps us reflect.
