Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Oscar Matunya

Miles Oscar, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

My journey as a creative started off in primary school, I used to write outstanding essays & stories. I became a Public Speaker, Poet, Actor & Quiz student in High School. I won a number of certificates and awards during this time. I took a 2 year break and I resumed in 2021 during the COVID-19 period. I came back as a YouTube Content Creator. I gained over 12,000 followers across all major social media platforms and I got nominated in August for the Best Content Creator of The Year Award (Zimbabwe). I have been an underground ghost Songwriter & screenwriter since 2020. I then moved to Sweden in September 2024 and that positively transformed my career resource wise.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

The road has been quite devastating and it also contributed to some of my mental health challenges. I use art as a method of venting but then it brought problems as well. My content hasn’t been performing well in terms of social media numbers and it was because of financial constraints. However, it has taught me a lot of lessons and I’ve networked with a lot of successful and influential people. Fortunately, I managed to overcome all these obstacles and I’m ready to conquer the world.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I don’t have one area of expertise, I’m a multi-disciplinary artist who is failing to find an area of specialization. Anyway, I’m a Content Creator, Graphics Designer, Actor, Poet, Screenwriter & Songwriter. I’m more of a jack of all trades in the entertainment and Creative sector.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?

In my context, I think success is gaining popularity, global recognition and the ability to influence positive social change in the society.
