We were lucky to catch up with Jeanine DiAngelo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jeanine , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the best advice you’ve ever given to a client? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
I deal with hundreds of clients yearly whether it be through my Thermography business or through nutritional counseling. I am truly grateful and blessed because I get to meet the most amazing people. Even though each person has their very own unique story and journey, what I tell them all initially is the same.
The advice I give to each client, it to always be your own advocate and do your homework. There’s a tremendous amount of information to be found and people often get overwhelmed with what they “should” do or who told them to do this vs that.
By teaching them to dig deeper, ask questions and truly listen to what resonates for them, I have seen tremendous shifts in my clients. They experience less fear and more empowerment. They begin to trust their inner voice and start to embrace what their bodies need and what benefits them.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
When I was in my twenties, my father was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. His mother (my grandmother) had this disease as well and had passed away from complications. After learning about my father, I began to study diligently about not only MS, but other auto immune diseases as well. It was a deep dive into the world of wellness and the importance of nutrition, mind body connection, and all things in between. I then had two children of my own and knew that I wanted to raise them in a very holistic and organic fashion so I went back to school and became a clinical nutritionist and a certified holistic health coach.
My passion is truly helping others feel their best while providing them simple and effective ways to make important and life lasting changes.
Roughly 3 years ago, I decided to add thermography to my tool box because it is an invaluable, full body preventative screening tool. It is radiation free, contactless and has been available since the 1950’s. To be able to offer this to my clients has been amazing because each client can see specific areas in the body (through a heat map) that need to be addressed or may just need attention. For example, thermography can show things like inflammation, toxicities, thyroid pathologies and is FDA cleared as an adjunctive screening tool in diagnosing breast cancer. It has the ability to detect “dis-ease” eight to ten years ahead of traditional medical screening tools.
I believe what sets Better Body Thermography apart is the effective process in which we do each scan. Each scan takes only 30 minutes and is then reviewed by three doctors and senior thermologists. Having three sets of eyes on each report ensures checks and balances and a highly accurate report of findings. Each client then gets a complimentary 15 minute call with a doctor to review their report and go through the details. After this, the client can work with me directly or I can refer them to a different holistic practitioner based on what their goals are, their location and anything else that may be important to them.
I am most proud of the fact that I get to help so many people feel good and make changes. I am also extremely grateful for the growth that Better Body Thermography has seen over the years. Starting with just one location, we now have 15 locations across Long Island, Queens and New Jersey. Helping people feel their best is contagious and I love to see ripple affect taking hold.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
When I first started Better Body Thermography, I was determined to make an impact in the health and wellness space. However, I was definitely concerned about how to get started, how to educate people, and how to get the business growing successfully.
I am a big believer in “boots on the ground” and for me, that’s exactly what I did. I went and met with chiropractors, acupuncturists, energy workers, holistic doctors and naturopaths. Some knew about thermography and it’s benefits and some did not. I began educating as many people as possible, holding seminars, lunch and learns and attending wellness expos.
Being authentic is what I believe helped my reputation in the market, There are many people who want to help people so once you find your tribe so to speak, the rest is easy. I surrounded myself with like minded authentic people and the rest is history!
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
I was in the fashion industry for 19 years prior to starting Better Body Thermography. During those years, I loved my career tremendously and got to experience some really cool things. I also was doing health coaching the entire time as a bit of a side hustle because that too, was my passion.
So if I could go back and do it differently, I would not change a thing, I believe timing is everything and I learned quite a bit about myself over the years. It’s okay to have more than one passion and I’m grateful for all of my passions, but now even more grateful that I get to do this every day.
