We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noah Andre a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Noah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Growing up listening to music was one of my favorite things to do. I used to sit at my parents computer and just go from song to song for hours trying to learn the lyrics so I could sing when I was home alone. From there my passion for it grew into an obsession of wanting to write, sing, and play instruments. So that’s what I did from 6th grade all the way through high-school. Having a career in music was my dream until about two months before graduation, I was asked to perform a couple songs for a Romeo and Juliet play. I would see all the actors rehearsing for the show and I immediately wanted to start acting, almost like a switch had been flipped in me. From there I started studying it on my own, because I had no access to acting classes since I lived in such a small town. So instead I researched different techniques, watched YouTube videos, practiced monologues and scene study, as well as character analysis. I would spend hours recording myself and watching the footage back to see where I could improve. About a year after I graduated, I had the opportunity to move to LA with my friend. I had very little to no experience with acting and I had never even been to LA, but I decided to take the risk anyway. I moved to Burbank in August of 2023, and I have been so blessed to have worked on so many amazing projects as well as being able to get back into pursuing music.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a 20 year old actor and singer/songwriter based in LA. I’ve been writing and singing for about 8 years, and acting for 2. I haven’t been in Los Angeles for very long but I grew up in a small town doing a lot of physical labor such as construction, landscaping, gardening, and ranch work, so I’ve developed a work ethic and discipline that I think sets me apart from other creatives. I’m most proud of my ability to not get discouraged easily and how much progress I’ve made from starting with very little. I’m almost completely self taught not only with instruments but acting as well, as I haven’t taken very many classes. I still have a lot to learn and I want to be the best artist I can on all fronts, but I’m happy with how far I’ve come and all the amazing connections I’ve made.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to be able to do music and acting full time. Being able to pay my bills, and put as much time into as I can is what I’m striving towards. However despite my passion for the arts, my real purpose resides in my faith. I was born and raised a Christian and my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing to me. He is in complete control and I believe he has me in this industry for a reason. This is my platform but following him is my purpose. So I know he’ll take care of me and get me to where I need to be, when I need to be there.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to inspire people, and the relationships I make. Being able to affect people emotionally and spiritually with my music, and acting is such a surreal feeling. Being in a space surrounded by people just as passionate, if not more passionate, and being able to work with them has created some of the best friendships I’ve ever had in such a short time.
