Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Crystal Bailey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Crystal, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career
When I change the education system to prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career I will include 3 core skills and areas of knowledge. Resilence & Mindset Development, Life skills (such as banking, creating systems, morals, character building, communication, and relationships), and the fundamentals of business.
Having these will not only provide them a fulfilling life it will help them manage life successfully.
I had to learn the first two on my own. Yes I had the guidance of my mother but I had to learn application through trial and error and I could have several years of failure if I knew it sooner. Me going to college allowed me to learn these attributes by book but when you walk into adulthood you are just winging it. I did that until I was 27 years old. It wasn’t until I had hit rock bottom and my husband passed that I then beginning putting the pieces together and began trial and error through these skills to be successful and a well rounded adult.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 37 year old single mother and widow, a serial entrepreneur with a melting pot of skills. I balance two titles: I am a transformation coach and motivational speaker. I own SOAR Network (See Opportunity and Rise), where I am a speaker and teacher for women and kids about purpose living, the skills needed to transform and I give them the tools and foundation to be successful at their dreams/goals. I am also an event producer, owner of crystal Bailey Productions. I producer large scale events all over the world for the hospitality industry, corporate clients, entertainers, athletes, non profit organizations, and high profile individuals. I also train entry level event planners and designers on how to become six figure owners and my blue print for success in the event/hospitality industry. I have been in the event industry for over 20 years. I more recently decided to walk in my calling of speaking and coaching within the last 5 years of my life. My calling was birth through my tragedy and telling my story of my husbands death and me loosing everything, my resilience and publicly evolving with the ability to walk in my light again opened the doors for me to lead and speak to hundreds of women all over the US about resilience, transformation and purpose seeking.
For my event clients the problem I solve is simple. I help them bringing their ideas to life and I create harmony and ease for them with my one of a kind logistical process.
When Im speaking and coaching I not only provide hope and the ability to know it’s possible but I provide the steps necessary to reach your dreams when they seem unattainable by teaching my community how to mindset shift.
What sets me a part is Im a disruptor, I go against the norms and status quo and I teach my formula on how to break the barriers they don’t talk about. Because if they talked about them we would all be successful and life would be easy right?!
I am most proud of being a mom and watching my clients thrive. I want the world to know that when they see me or work with me, they will know she doesn’t hold back access and value and it was from her heart. My brand is built on integrity and the idea that my legacy is what’s happens or what people do when they leave me. That’s true success!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to pivot in 2020-2021 during Covid 19. Being in the event industry, we took the biggest hit because people could not socialize. For my industry that’s a nightmare because events are based on people coming together to celebrate.
I made three pivots in that season, I increased my online community and brand awareness and began teaching and hosting virtual events for clients. I also cornered the idea of intimate dinner parties. I got a partnership with airbnbs and had clients who celebrated within the measures of 20 people or less dinner parties. I was able to capitalize during that time and scaled my income by 60% without taking a 100% income hit. Lastly, I expanded into a market that did not have the limitations my market had and extended my services into Atlanta Georgia. There I was able to increase my clientele, my reach, and add an additional revenue stream.
It was the smartest pivot I had made in my career. The results increased my brand awareness, my clientele increased across state lines, and it allowed me to sustain an income.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy to build my clientele has been real time and recap BTS. I show my process, the good and the bad. This allowed for potential clients to see my process, how I work and the results.
This open the flood gates because clientele then desired to have their process show. It was an easy way for clients to see the events come to life in real time.
It built trust and validated my expertise.
