We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michael Brown a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Michael thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I really got serious with my business about 2 years ago (BROWNBOICOLLECTIVE) my mind and support system is much more better. I wish I could’ve started sooner but just with the energy and support I have now. I was surrounded by too many crabs in a barrel to ever elevate with my career.

Michael, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name name is Michael brown also known as Beelike. A creative born and raised in Harlem New York.my passion is in music and arts. With the right practice , I developed a liking for song writing and drawing. Due to several family members working in and out of the music industry I became a fan of music more and more.as I study the industry I just focused on things I can bring to the table. I’m always looking for the new and that’s what I provide with my collective which to create a collective of talented creatives who go hard in looking for the newest things , pushing the envelope and sacrifice. I’m most proud of the impact my music impacts people as I’m not a big artist but people knowing your music or looking forward to your next move is awesome enough for me. I want people to realize with my brand , my business my agenda is to lift the voices of the unknowns and not fall Into the typical category. God made us all different so let’s continue to be different and push the envelope as a collective.I’ve worked with a bunch of artist, creatives and etc so I’m seasoned enough to know when the ball is in my hand imma make impact.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The fact that all my life I felt people thought less of me. I’ve been to jail, bullied ridiculed and etc. I was told wasn’t good enough. People didn’t believe in me and now at this very time I’m stronger than ever wi the the same vision and I didn’t quit. I lost too much to give up now.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
That people are gonna be people so with this said stay the course.
It was times I was around people who was signed and I knew I could contribute and actually in ways I did but very little and I’m still grateful but the way I went about things like being bitter or feeling ways with out communicating can definitely block your blessings as I had to unlearn being so friendly and keeping things more business. People took advantage of me time after time not being sturdy or more attentive to the business side of things and not being rattled.
