We recently connected with Adam Peters and have shared our conversation below.
Adam, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for my business came from a combination of my journey and a powerful realization of the needs of veterans transitioning to civilian life. I read an article on Military.com highlighting the stark difference in veteran-owned business statistics across generations. After World War II, many veterans became business owners, helping to drive economic growth and innovation. But by the time of the Vietnam era and especially post-9/11, those percentages kept shrinking. It struck me deeply because I believe that the path back to purpose is often through entrepreneurship. Veterans possess unique strengths—discipline, resilience, and a mission-driven mindset—and it seemed that fewer and fewer were applying those strengths to create businesses and build something of their own.
I knew from experience that finding purpose outside of the military can be challenging. My journey showed me that discovering one’s passions and turning them into a system that generates income is one of the most fulfilling paths we can take. I wanted to create a community and resource that would help veterans explore this pathway and support them in every step of building a business, finding personal growth, and reestablishing purpose. I’m convinced that life was meant to be lived this way—doing work you’re passionate about, creating value, and generating your opportunities. That vision and the knowledge that I could help bridge this gap for other veterans excited me most about starting this business.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Adam Peters, the founder of a community-driven business dedicated to supporting veterans as they transition into civilian life. My journey began in the military, and like many veterans, I faced a significant adjustment when I stepped out of that structured environment. I quickly realized how challenging it can be for veterans to find purpose and build new careers outside of the military. I believe that the most fulfilling path back to purpose is through entrepreneurship—discovering your passions and turning them into something meaningful that can generate both satisfaction and income.
What sets our community apart is that it’s completely member-driven. This means that our members specifically request every resource, course, or service we provide. There’s no fluff or unnecessary content—just practical support and guidance that directly addresses veterans’ needs. We also use this space to share our work and promote each other’s services and products. For example, I’m deeply into automation, exploring how it can streamline businesses. I’m happy to pass that knowledge to others in the community who want to understand it.
Our mission is to create a self-sustaining support system where veterans can connect, collaborate, and build each other up. Whether through sharing insights, offering guidance, or amplifying each other’s work, we’re committed to empowering veterans to take control of their futures. I’m most proud of the way this community has become a true resource—a place where veterans help veterans, work through personal challenges, learn new skills, and launch their own ventures together.
The biggest takeaway I want potential clients, followers, and supporters to understand is that transitioning from the military is just the beginning of a new mission. By fostering entrepreneurship and providing meaningful, member-driven support, we’re helping veterans redefine success and embrace their potential to create purpose-driven lives.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I funded my business entirely through bootstrapping. To make it possible, I restructured my finances and trimmed out any expenses that weren’t absolutely necessary. For instance, my family and I own only one vehicle because, working from home, I don’t need the added expense of a second car. While it can be challenging to coordinate schedules around just one vehicle, the cost savings have been worth it. I also take a very calculated approach to any investments in the business. If a tool or resource doesn’t offer a clear return on investment—whether in terms of time saved or money earned—I pass on it. This disciplined approach to spending has allowed me to build a business without external funding and keep full control over the company’s direction.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had to make a significant pivot when I realized that charging membership fees was limiting the growth of my community. At the time, I was generating about $500 in monthly recurring revenue, but it became clear that this approach wasn’t helping the community reach its full potential. So, I decided to make a change—I removed the membership fee, which immediately increased engagement, bringing in seven new members almost instantly.
This shift also pushed me to lean into a more service-based model. By focusing on providing real value through services like automation, I could support the community’s growth organically without placing financial barriers on membership. Automation has also proven to be much more lucrative and almost sells itself. This pivot allowed me to build a larger, more connected community. It opened up new revenue opportunities that better align with the needs of my members and the direction I want to take my business.
