We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kasia Sasinowska. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kasia below.
Hi Kasia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Two of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on stand out for their impact and the values they represent.
The first was during my time as a creative producer at &Walsh, where I had the opportunity to work on the branding for Rubi Laboratories. Rubi is an innovative company that produces high-quality natural textiles, such as viscose and lyocell, directly from CO2. What makes this project so meaningful to me is the company’s mission to create sustainable textiles that are carbon-negative and both water- and land-neutral. Being part of a project that aligns with such an important cause—pioneering a shift toward more sustainable practices in the fashion and textile industries—was incredibly rewarding. It allowed me to contribute to something bigger than myself, knowing that our work could help make a significant environmental impact.
The second project that holds special meaning for me was producing “Yes, I Don’t” for SEXED PL. This initiative gave a voice to people who choose to live a child-free life, a topic that is often stigmatized. The project involved sharing their stories in an impactful and beautiful way, aiming to educate society and challenge the negative perceptions surrounding the decision not to have children. This project was particularly meaningful because it provided a platform for underrepresented voices and opened up important conversations about choice and autonomy. It was gratifying to see how the project resonated with so many people and contributed to a broader understanding of personal freedom.
Both projects were significant to me because they allowed me to use my skills to support causes that matter, while also challenging me creatively and professionally. They remind me of the power of storytelling and design to influence change and inspire others.
Kasia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For the last six years I have been working as a freelance creative producer and photographer, engaging in various creative projects. As a producer, I spearhead and manage the entire lifecycle of creative projects, from scheduling, scoping, and budget estimations to project execution and final asset delivery. As a photographer, I plan and execute fashion, beauty, and editorial shoots, working closely with clients to create compelling visuals that help them achieve their goals. My professional experience spans from big-scale commercial photo and video productions for clients such as Netflix, YSL, and Laneige, to small artistic projects for fashion magazines (Photo Vogue, C-Heads, Cake Magazine) and artists like Tommy Cash and Jullie Gaultier.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is that my day-to-day work is actually my passion. I genuinely enjoy what I do, and there’s nothing more fulfilling than creating something beautiful that resonates with others. I consider myself an “esthete” because I’m deeply motivated by beauty. Seeing the final results of my work gives me immense satisfaction, even when the process of getting there is challenging and stressful. Another aspect I truly value is the freedom that freelancing gives me. It allows me to choose projects that align with my creative vision and work on my own terms.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best sources of new clients for me have been a combination of social media (and my portfolio) and word-of-mouth recommendations. In this industry, one successful project often leads to another. Making a strong impression on the people you work with and for goes a long way. Once you deliver something well, clients are not only likely to come back to you with new projects, but they’ll also recommend you to others. This cycle of trust and quality has been key in building my client base and sustaining my business.
