Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tashun Miller. Tashun was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Shundilyn Smith.

Tashun, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started working after I graduated high school at the age of 19. Once I started learning all of the departments and mechanics of the job, I chose to become unionized. I continued to work within the union for 34 years. During my employment, I was able to learn and perfect my Customer Service skills, inventory skills, flexibility and community outreach skills. After retiring, I noticed that I had too much free time and needed to make some changes within my personal life. My days became longer, and I no longer enjoyed day to day activities. I had to brainstorm a way to get myself motivated, moving and making money! So, I started a business. I’ve always wanted to own my own business, what better time than now to start my own? I decided to sell jewelry. I noticed how jewelry had the potential to take an outfit from a 7 to a 10, or make a woman feel beautiful. Jewelry became fashion therapy for not only my customers, but myself. With my business, I possess the ability to connect with every race, ethnicity or gender due to my products and inventory. I am making money, an impact on people’s lives and connections that have no limits, I am truly blessed to be afforded this opportunity.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
What I enjoy the most about my work (running a small business) is the ability to connect with people all over the world about a similar interest… Jewelry! I’ve noticed no matter what people may be going through or where they may live, nobody can deny a great statement piece! It brings me joy when people are confident in my abilities to style them with pieces from my inventory and they leave wearing them. This lets me know that I have successfully uplifted another customer, made a sale and impacted their lives forever. These are the experiences I hold near to my heart, and I hope my customers feel the same way.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Shundilyn Smith and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Shundilyn.
My Relationship with Shundilyn is very special because … she’s, my daughter! All I can say is, that my experience with Shundilyn (my daughter) has been amazing! Watching her grow and learn all of the different things that she’s learned, she has made me VERY proud. Shundilyn’s books has truly made a great impact on me and the way I now view life, experiences and people. Reading her books has showed me that she has a hidden gift, that she can and has been using to help those that are struggling to cope with their own struggles. What I truly love about Shundilyn’s progress with writing and teaching the community is: ever since Shundilyn has begun writing, I’ve noticed that her voice, writing, and her books have been a very positive influence when it pertains to helping the community and others that she may meet along the way.
