Today, we’d like to introduce you to Inez Ashworth. Inez was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Leanne Gawley.

Inez, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in England in a pub, literally in a pub. I was surrounded by community up until my late teens, when life really started to kick in ands get a little rough. When I was 20 I was domestic violence survivor, diagnosed several illnesses and then met my partner who I am with today.

Immigrating to Canada was really tough both personally and professionally.

Today I now have my own Equity and Inclusion business , I wrote a chapter in a book called Landed featuring 30 immigrant women in Canada. I was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago which I found extremely eye opening and makes a lot of my life make sense.

I love to give back to others and volunteer were ever time allows, or at least I am trying to do less :-)

Leanne is such an amazing human and I am so grateful that I get to call her a friend and navigate our entrepreneur and ADHD journeys together, she truly is my rock. If all leaders were like Leanne I would probably be out of business. Leanne is one of the most Inclusive leader’s I have had the pleasure to work with which is how our relationship began. She is authentic, has this amazing way of providing a safe space to not only her immediate team and network but to many others. No matter busy Leanne is she truly puts others first which may not always be a good thing for only person well being but its who she is and what makes her so unique. Someone recently said to Leanne in front of our workshop we do “Leanne you really are a unicorn” and I could not agree more. Leanne is also one of the bravest people I know doing things that all true leaders should do be doing. She is honest and speaks her truth and advocates for others even it means putting her self at risk and I truly admire this about her and don’t see this in many leaders.
I now have the pleasure of Leanne being one of my closest friends and i am so grateful everyday for that, especially been an immigrant its often hard making new friends like back home, the people you grew up, that have your back and you can rely on. Leanne is smart, funny, kind and like me likes the occasional glass of wine :-)
