We recently connected with Charity Inabnet-Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Charity thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The Story Behind My Mission
The heart of my mission lies in helping people rediscover their confidence. Scars, whether visible or invisible, each carry a story, and while some of us embrace them, others may feel self-conscious or incomplete because of them. I understand both sides, having once wished my own scars could be softened just enough to feel at ease. Experiencing the profound impact of paramedical tattooing firsthand, I realized, “I could do this. I could help others feel this same sense of relief.”
From that moment, I felt a calling to dedicate myself to a profession with meaningful impact. I took a leap of faith, diving into this work with a vision: to provide people with a way to feel whole again. Since starting, I’ve been honored to witness so many life-changing transformations. I’ve had the privilege of working with breast cancer survivors, individuals recovering from c-sections, those going through gender affirmation journeys, clients recovering from self-harm, people healing from car accidents, burns, and other traumas. Each client has a unique story, and their scars carry profound meaning.
Seeing the excitement, the happy tears, and the sense of wholeness that comes over a client when they look in the mirror post-treatment is truly indescribable. It’s in those moments that I know this work makes a difference. My mission is simple: to empower people to look in the mirror and see themselves—not defined by scars but uplifted by their strength. This journey is my way of giving back, and every time I see a client’s smile, I know it’s all worth it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me & My Business
I’m a paramedical tattoo artist, permanent makeup artist, and scalp micropigmentation specialist. My journey into this industry is deeply personal. I started my business with a mission to help people regain their confidence—just as I did when I sought treatments to improve my own scars. We all carry scars, whether from surgeries, accidents, or life-changing moments, and each one tells a story. For me, those scars became a source of inspiration. I realized that if I could make mine look better and feel more confident, I could offer the same relief to others. Having seen close family members navigate the physical and emotional toll of surgeries, I deeply understand how important it is to feel comfortable in your own skin after major life events. My services aim to reduce the visibility of scars, restore natural beauty, and help clients feel more like themselves again.
Each treatment is personalized to meet the unique needs of my clients, whether they want to lighten scars, redefine features, or restore hairlines. What sets my business apart is the personal connection I have to the work. I understand the emotional journey behind wanting to look and feel better, and I’m passionate about helping people feel whole again.
I’m most proud of the moments when a client looks in the mirror after a treatment and smiles—when they feel empowered, relieved, and renewed. Those moments remind me why I started this business. Life is tough enough without having to carry the weight of visible scars or feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. If I can help make someone’s journey a little easier, then my mission is fulfilled.
My brand is all about transformation, confidence, and self-love. I want potential clients to know that they are in the hands of someone who not only understands their concerns but has walked a similar path. My goal is to help them look and feel their best, no matter what challenges life has thrown their way. Together, we can turn scars into symbols of strength and resilience.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I believe that strong relationships are the key to building loyalty, and I take a very personal approach when it comes to staying connected with my clients. After each treatment, I make sure to check in via calls, emails or texts to see how they’re feeling and to offer support throughout the healing process. I encourage my clients to send me pictures of their progress so I can monitor the results and ensure everything is healing as expected. This not only helps me stay involved but also reassures clients that they are never alone in their journey.
Follow-up appointments are another way I stay connected. These are opportunities to fine-tune the results, address any concerns, and further build trust. Many of my clients return regularly for touch-ups or additional services, which allows us to maintain that ongoing relationship. They know they can rely on me, not just for the initial treatment but for continuous care long after.
What sets my client relationships apart is the genuine connection I form with each person. It’s not uncommon for clients to reach out months after their appointment, sending me happy photos or updates on how great they feel. These moments are really special to me because they show how deeply my work has impacted their confidence and well-being. In return, clients feel comfortable referring friends and family members to me, knowing I’ll take the same personalized care with their loved ones.
I’ve also found that maintaining an open line of communication, even beyond appointments, strengthens these bonds. Clients often text me with questions, updates, or just to say thank you, and I always make time to respond. I want my clients to feel heard and valued at every stage, from their initial consultation to well after their treatment is completed. This personal touch is what fosters not just loyalty, but trust and a sense of community around my brand.
At the end of the day, it’s about building a relationship that goes beyond just providing a service. By showing genuine interest in my clients’ well-being, offering ongoing support, and celebrating their progress, I create an experience that keeps them coming back—and encourages them to share their positive experiences with others.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
After spending over 20 years in outside sales, making the transition to paramedical tattooing, scalp micropigmentation and permanent makeup was a complete shift for me—one that required unlearning a lot of the strategies and habits I had built up over the years. In sales, you’re always focused on targets, outcomes, and often having to present a polished version of yourself. There’s pressure to hit numbers, to constantly prove your value, and to convince others of what they need, sometimes even when they’re uncertain. It’s very goal-driven and often comes with a certain level of stress.
But when I entered this new field, I quickly realized that the same approach didn’t work. This is a much more intimate and emotional space. People come to me vulnerable, sometimes feeling insecure or unsure about their scars or features, and looking for help to feel whole again. This isn’t about convincing someone to make a purchase—it’s about offering them something personal, something that can truly change how they see themselves. It was a complete mindset shift for me.
I had to unlearn the idea that I always needed to have a sales pitch ready or be focused on closing a deal. In this industry, what matters most is listening, empathy, and creating a genuine connection. There’s no room for the transactional mindset here. My clients trust me to help them on their journey to regain confidence, and that trust can’t be rushed or manufactured. The more I’ve leaned into just being present, allowing my true emotions to show, and focusing on the person in front of me, the more fulfilling my work has become.
It was also a lesson in letting go of stress. In sales, there’s constant pressure to deliver, and that can lead to burnout. In this new chapter, I’ve learned that when I focus on the client’s needs, when I let the process unfold naturally, everything falls into place. My feelings are more genuine now, and the work feels like a natural extension of who I am, rather than something I have to push for. The impact I make is much deeper, and I don’t have to worry about hitting quotas. Instead, I can focus on the emotions, healing, and transformations my clients experience.
Unlearning the sales-driven mentality has allowed me to be more authentic in my work. It’s been freeing in a way. I no longer feel the need to “sell” anything. I just focus on helping people, and everything flows from there. This change has not only made my work more meaningful but has also allowed me to connect with clients in a way I never could before. And that’s what keeps me passionate about what I do.
