Today we’d like to introduce you to Boubacar Diallo

Hi Boubacar , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

My name is Boubacar Diallo. My family is from West Africa a country called Guinea. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Since I was a kid I have always been influenced by music and fashion. I got started just by wanting to create and express myself through fashion and art. I truly enjoy the creative process. In 2015 I decided to screen print some T-Shirts and I never stopped since then. The idea and the name “Last Throne” just came to me one day. The concept is that we all are Kings & Queens and that we all should embrace our own uniqueness and there will never be another YOU to exist ever again in life. When it comes to the images on my shirts I normally collaborate with a team of illustrators. Most of my art comes from my life experiences. Around 2017 I decided to create my website www.lastthroneclothing.com and that helped me expand the business. I normally would do my advertising on Instagram & Facebook. Also, there was a period where I would give clothes to stores to sell on a consignment basis. It has been a wonderful journey so far. I thank God everyday for this blessing! As of today I am working on my new collection and plan on doing some pop up shops in different art galleries throughout New York City. At some point in the near future open up a flagship store as well very soon.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

The road has been very challenging but I embrace the challenges it gives me the opportunity to grow as a person and as an entrepreneur. Some struggles that came along were sometimes having doubt,losing friends, creative roadblocks at times, and even financial struggles to keep the business going. When it comes to doubt there are those periods where things are at a stand still and you ask yourself, am I doing the right thing? Is this going to work? However,overall faith and god pushes me through the doubt roadblock. Losing friends the ones that belong on your journey will stay and the ones that do not will eventually leave. It is a weird feeling at first but once I understood the bigger picture it was easier for me to handle. I always appreciate the friends that supported me from the beginning. The creative roadblock comes normally when things are at a stand still with life and the business. I learned to use those moments as my note taking season. The biggest struggle for a starting a new business is the financial part. At some points I am never liquid with money because I reinvest everything back into the business whether it is paying for marketing, creating new designs, or even buying blank t- shirts or hats. I will have to wait until I make sales to regenerate the entire process all over again. I appreciate every lesson each roadblock has taught me it has helped me grow.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I am an Artist/Designer and I use my life experiences to create clothes and art all at once. Whatever I am going through in life at any moment I use that as the fuel to create and release through the art. I will say I make pain cinematic. I am known for my clothing line called “Last Throne” which is story book. I create stories through clothes and design. My main goal is to inspire people to be themselves and appreciate their own uniqueness. Be happy with yourself and be confident. Keep God close. I am most proud of never giving up no matter how hard or bleak the situation seems. Being confident in myself and motivating others to do the same. What sets me apart from others is me being me because there is only one of me. Everything I do is really me I can not be duplicated. Me being me is my gift. I approach my art from a real life stand point. Sometimes my art can be dark or happy it depends where I am at in my life in that moment.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?

The quality or characteristic most important to my success is the never giving up attitude and having faith at all times. I believe we all have a purpose in life and it is our job to find that purpose. Once we find that purpose we must be willing to fight for it and defend it at any cost. So, no matter how challenging things might get a times I always tell myself that I can not give up. I am a very spiritual person so I believe God will always have my back no matter what and I fear nothing. I am fearless. Having talent is one thing but keep going when things are shaky is another. I want people to never give up on themselves and keep the fire burning.
