My hero in bartending is Simone Caporale. His dedication to refining every detail of his craft has profoundly influenced my own journey. Watching him work reveals a passion for precision, creativity, and hospitality that I aspire to bring to my interactions with customers. He emphasizes not just making drinks but creating experiences that make people feel welcome and valued. One moment that stands out was seeing him transform an ordinary cocktail into a multisensory experience through innovative garnishes, storytelling, and genuine engagement with guests. From him, I’ve learned that bartending goes beyond technical skill; it’s about connecting with people, making them feel seen, and bringing joy through an artfully crafted experience. Read more>>

From a young age, I would discuss political, mythological, and global affairs with him, influencing my work and life. He served in the Indian Army; he told me stories of war and its adversities. He was part of the Multi Bahini army, the army which helped with the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan. He had seen things in life no one should have ever seen. Read more>>

We all have a Hero within that is brilliant, creative, and inspired by our passions. Throughout my life I have met phenomenal people who have ignited a spark in me to radiate or share that inner Hero. The mentors who have inspired me most have become my Heroes. My Heroes include my mother Carol Calkins, Rev. Vicky Jeter, Cathy Hawk from Clarity® International, and Melisa Pearce from Touched by a Horse®. What do Heroes have in common? They see the light, wholeness, and potential in another person. They are grounded in their truth, in alignment with loving wholeness, and they inspire others to expand into greatness. Read more>>
