Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Eyal Alfandary. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Eyal , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew that I wanted to become an actor since I was very young. I went to a lot of acting and singing classes for many years. I started acting when I was six years old and since that moment I couldn’t stop. The feeling of being on stage and performing is something that you can’t substitute with anything else. The excitement that you feel before you go on stage is one of my favorite feelings. I think that it started when I just wanted to perform in front of my family and then when I realized that I can do it on stage. I always enjoyed studying a new character and exploring a new world that I didn’t know. I was also curious about everything and asked a lot of questions and enjoyed imagining and studying subjects that I didn’t know.
Eyal , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an actor originally from Israel and I’ve studied acting in Israel and worked in theatre, short films and commercials in Israel. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my career in acting.
I always knew that this was what I wanted to do. No matter how many rejections I got on the way, I’ve never gave up and kept trying, until I signed up with an agency in Israel and worked as an actor. I always kept studying, developing and learning more about myself and always tried to be the best version of myself.
Since a very young age I took part of plays in Israel and worked a lot in theatre in Israel. I performed as an actor and a singer.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
That I get to do what I love to do the most. Acting. I get to perform in front of people and I get to explore characters and go after my dream. I think the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is when you get to make someone feel something. When you make them connect to you and you can connect to their world with the work that you’ve been doing. I think that there’s nothing like that when you know that you made someone feel something and connect to their emotion with the story that you are performing.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To tell significant stories. To portray fascinating characters. To be able to create a new story every day and to stay authentic and connected to myself. To be able to connect to people with the stories that I’ll have the chance to tell. I want to deliver smart dialogues and tell a story that means something big.
