We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trina Felber a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Trina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My journey as the “Mother of the Clean Beauty Movement” started with a painful experience that turned my understanding of health and beauty upside down. As a nurse anesthetist and a mother, I thought I knew how to care for my own well-being. But when I suffered a miscarriage, it forced me to look deeper into what could have been behind it. That search led me to a shocking realization about the unregulated world of skincare and beauty products—the very products I was using every day were filled with hormone disruptors, toxins, and chemicals that seeped into my skin and could potentially harm my body.
This discovery was life-changing. I had no idea that what I trusted to be safe and beneficial for my skin could actually be dangerous. If I, with my medical background, didn’t know this, then countless other women out there likely didn’t know it either. That’s when my personal mission began—not just to create clean beauty products, but to help women avoid the risks I’d faced and provide them with the education they need to make safe choices.
I knew I had to do more than just change my own routine. I founded Primal Life Organics to offer the kind of products I couldn’t find anywhere else—truly clean, toxin-free alternatives that wouldn’t harm my body. For me, this mission is intensely personal because I’ve felt firsthand the difference that clean products can make. When I switched to natural alternatives, I saw improvements in my own health, from chronic symptoms easing to hormonal imbalances stabilizing. It was like waking up to a new sense of vitality.
My mission is not only about making safe products but also about giving women the power and knowledge to make informed choices for themselves and their families. I believe we deserve more than beauty products that come with hidden risks. We deserve products that support our health, that work in harmony with our bodies rather than against them.
This journey has been about more than creating a brand—it’s been about standing up to an industry that often places profits over people. I want to redefine beauty not as something superficial but as an inner glow that comes from vibrant health. I’m here to help women feel not only beautiful but also safe, healthy, and empowered in their skin. Because when we feel good, we truly look good.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
The problem I solve is that women don’t realize they’re applying up to 300 chemicals on their bodies every single day—chemicals that are silently making them sick. These toxins are behind common yet misunderstood health issues like fatigue, headaches, brain fog, infertility, and menopausal symptoms. Despite this, doctors often overlook the most obvious root causes: the hormone disruptors and inflammatory ingredients hidden in everyday personal care products.
Many women turn to resources like the EWG, Think Dirty, and Yuka apps, hoping for guidance on safer products. However, while well-intentioned, these apps don’t account for hidden toxins that can be absorbed through our skin. This creates a false sense of security, leaving women unknowingly exposed to chemicals that affect their health and the health of their families. My mission is to change that. I empower women to take control, educating them on how to detox from the hormone disruptors, neurotoxins, and cancer-causing ingredients that undermine their health from within.
Through the Holistic Health & Beauty Reset Program, I offer women a roadmap to true clean beauty and wellness. This program isn’t just about switching products; it’s about transforming health by identifying and removing toxic ingredients from daily routines. I guide women to understand which ingredients are linked to hormone imbalances, inflammation, and other health issues—and how to replace them with effective, safe alternatives. From anti-aging skincare to dental care and body care, the Holistic Health & Beauty Reset covers every aspect of personal care from a health-first perspective.
At the heart of this program is the Bold Beauty Community. Here, women come together to learn, share, and support each other in their journeys to healthier, toxin-free lifestyles. It’s a space for open conversations, expert interviews, and practical advice on building beauty routines that don’t compromise health. Through our community, we’re fostering a movement toward cleaner living that puts women’s well-being at the forefront.
I am here to show women that they can look and feel beautiful without compromising their health or that of their loved ones. With the Holistic Health & Beauty Reset, I’m giving women the tools to reclaim their health, understand what’s really in their products, and choose a path to wellness that feels as good as it looks. My mission is to ensure that every woman knows beauty should never come at the cost of health—and to make that choice both simple and empowering.
We’d appreciate any insights you can share with us about selling a business.
I sold Primal Life Organics in December 2024- I wanted to off-load the minutia of the business (payroll, HR, Finance, Logistics) so I could focus on being the Visionary of the brand for growth and education. I planned on staying with the company for 4 years.
Unfortunately, the purchasing company terminated me in just 4 months. It is currently under litigation and you can find the information here: https://archive.is/yc98J
I sold 45% of the company and still own 55% in stock.
My advise to other entrepreneurs who want to sell their business? Sell 100% and contract your services for a high fee.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Certainly! After selling Primal Life Organics, I embarked on a new journey with The Healthy Me, building it from scratch with a clear mission to empower women through education and self-care. This transition was a true test of resilience, as I moved from running an established brand to creating a platform focused entirely on teaching, guiding, and transforming lives. I wanted to do more than just provide clean beauty products—I wanted to equip women with the knowledge to take control of their own health and beauty, free from the dangers of hormone disruptors, neurotoxins, and invasive treatments.
At The Healthy Me, I launched three core programs, each designed to address a critical need I had identified in the beauty and wellness industry. The Holistic Health & Beauty Reset Program is where I educate women on the health risks of conventional products and how to detox their personal care routines. This program goes beyond skincare to cover holistic health practices, offering tools and guidance to support women’s overall wellness.
The Bold Beauty Community is another pillar of The Healthy Me, a space where women can come together, learn, and even make their own hormone-disruptor-free skincare products. It’s about creating a sisterhood dedicated to toxin-free living, where members can support each other and build confidence in crafting safe, effective beauty solutions right at home.
Lastly, I introduced the Facial Rejuvenation Bootcamp, which provides a natural facelift alternative for those looking to avoid Botox, fillers, and surgery. This bootcamp teaches facial exercises and skincare practices that lift, tone, and sculpt the face naturally, helping women look and feel their best without compromising their health.
Building The Healthy Me from the ground up has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s been a journey of resilience, grounded in my passion for helping women reclaim their health and confidence. I am proud to be creating a personal brand that champions empowerment, education, and true self-care. Through The Healthy Me, I am committed to a mission far greater than skincare—it’s about giving women the tools, knowledge, and community to thrive in a world that often compromises health for beauty. This journey has taught me that resilience isn’t just about overcoming obstacles; it’s about staying true to your mission, no matter the odds.
