We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Anna Zgurovskaya a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Anna , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My name is Anna. Im a fashion stylist based in Miami, Fl.
I was a professional dancer my whole life -started when I was 5 but always had a strong connection to fashion world. When I was little my Mom and I were creating clothing for my Barbie Doll -using magazines as inspiration. That’s how it all started. I’ve always loved shopping and looking at fashion shows, my friends always were saying – that they need my help in creating their wardrobe and I need to think about doing it professionally. And during pandemic – when I wasn’t able to perform in a shows anymore I’ve decided to take a Condé Nast Course for Fashion Styling. And I absolutely loved it. It came out so naturally for me -that I knew right a way that it would become my passion for life…
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a Fashion Stylist, with a 4 years of experience in the industry. I’m working with Clothing Brands-shooting their campaigns/lookbooks/catalogs. Also love to work with personal clients whether its a creating a personal capsule wardrobe or putting looks together for a personal photoshoot.
Worked with magazines Elle/ Instyle/Grazia/ Fashion gone Rogue/ Worth Avenue.
As of my Commercial clients Amazon/ Saks Avenue/ Bloomingdales / Shein / Santa Margarita Wines/ Kan Brand / Bugatchi Menswear.
Right now I’m working on expending my services in NYC, LA.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
While I was performing on a stage my whole life and I’ve enjoyed it – I’ve never created choreography pieces -I was always an executor. Being a stylist puts me on a level where I’m the one who is creating something special that will stay with me forever and people love and admire.
While my job is not the easiest one and requires a lot of preparation- I find it so rewarding when you could see my DNA closed off in all of my projects.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to become creative director in future. There are so many ideas that constantly live in my head and looking for an execution. I would love to travel the world and work with different brands and create beautiful content for magazines. Social media and blogging took a lot of creativity away – but I believe there is still a place for creative minds to surprise and amaze the world.
