Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Samantha Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Samantha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
One of the my most valuable work experiences came from my time working as a cashier at Office Depot during college. I quickly discovered that the key to interactions is patience and a sprinkle of humor! Every day was a chance to hone my customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills. It was basically a crash course in adapting quickly to different scenarios!
Working in retail also underscored to me the importance of hard work and dedication. Every employee played a vital role in the team, working towards shared goals. Beyond sharpening interpersonal skills, I also learned profound lessons in empathy that shaped who I am to this day. It’s so important to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and work to understand their perspective!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m dedicated to empowering small business owners to elevate their digital presence through strategic marketing that truly stands out using social media, email and content marketing.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of supporting small businesses in various capacities, which has granted me invaluable insights into their unique challenges and needs, especially when it comes to online marketing. It became clear to me that while small business owners are experts in their own fields, they often struggle with maintaining consistent social media and email marketing output.
This realization inspired me to take the leap in January 2020 and establish my own digital marketing business, aimed at bridging this gap. My clients love how I focus on crafting strategic, consistent marketing plans that leverage the power of social media, email and content marketing. The results are tangible, with the data showing increased audience impressions and engagement over time. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness!
What sets my business apart is not only the strategies I implement but also the genuine passion and commitment I have to see my clients succeed. I take immense pride in being a part of their journey, helping them leverage digital marketing to magnetically attract ideal clients and grow their business!
My goal is to ensure that business owners can focus on what they do best, while I provide the expert support needed to enhance their online visibility. I’m most proud of the positive impact my work has had on the businesses I work with.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Attending in-person networking events was the biggest game-changer for finding new clients. Referral marketing is a tried-and-true growth strategy, and my business coach said I really needed to give these events a try to build my network. My first reaction – no way! As an introvert, the very thought of walking into a room full of strangers was way up on the cringe factor. Several times I sat in my car, psyching myself up to take that leap of faith and walk through those doors.
To my relief, I found that meeting other business owners, while initially nerve-wracking, was an opportunity to build community. The initial discomfort was more than worth the rewarding outcomes, and allowed me to meet valuable referral partners, fantastic clients, and wonderful friends!

Have you ever had to pivot?
Earlier this year I pivoted my service offerings and it felt like stepping into a big question mark. I’d spent 4 years building my business on providing monthly content management, but I noticed it wasn’t serving all my clients in the way they needed. The idea of adding a new service was daunting, but it was really motivating to find a way to deliver better results.
So I brainstormed, built and launched quarterly intensives called the Fast Forward. This framework allows me to create 3 months of blog posts, email newsletters, and social posts for my clients over the space of just a few days. My time-strapped clients love the efficiency since all the content is ready for them to approve at once and they know it’s off their to do list for the next three months!
The transition has not been without its challenges but it was totally worth it. My new process allows me to leverage my best creative powers with each client, and client satisfaction is higher than ever. Never under estimate the importance of flexibility, and the power of innovation.
