We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cabrina Mclain. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cabrina below.
Hi Cabrina, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Most of my life, I have encountered disappointment and have had to overcome tragedy. My friends and family tell me that I have the ability to push through challenging times and achieving success during turbulent times. I think that I have learned to acknowledge my failure, evaluate what I could have done differently, and accelerate my thought process to help me move forward. My success has resulted in staying focused on the future and letting go of the past. I have a few micro businesses, I volunteer to help others, and I constantly challenge myself to be a better version of myself.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a leadership coach, and abstract artist. I facilitate emotional intelligence and other team building classes to business during the day and I end my day painting on wood or canvas in my garage at night. I love helping teams collaborate, identify top talent, and creating a development plan to help them get to the next level. Most executives call me, “coach” because I ask questions to help the dig deep from within and think of a solution to help them focus on their priorities. My approach is disarming, and I do my best to use situational leadership to meet each client’s needs. I have worked with Fortune 500 companies, a State Representative, and top “C Suite” executives from various companies.
My art business is still growing and involving. During the pandemic, I started painting to balance my mental health. Fast forward to 2024, my work is in local galleries, in various publications, and I have sold work to a few professional sports players and their families.
I am proud to have helped 75 leaders promoted to the positions that they thought were out of reach.
I want my future clients to know that whether it’s coaching or art, I will make sure you feel like you have a one-of-a-kind session or product.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
As a business owner, I am an Author who is self published. I learned through joining new author groups that it was best for me to order books from Amazon’s publishing site. This allowed to buy at 1/3rd of the price and sell to customers at regular price. As an artist, I wanted my artwork available on Amazon and quickly learned that the process it convoluted. I was determined not to give up so I printed the instructions from Amazon’s Hand made site and highlighted tasks as I completed them. My artwork will soon be available on Amazon, I can’t believe it!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
I have learned that as a business owner and entrepreneur, I cannot grow my business without the help of my friends and family. To help gain more clients, I ask current clients to send me 1 recommendation and when I post on social media, I always end my message with a call to action. I ask my connections to send me 1 place I should sell my art and 3 names of people who could benefit from my services. They want me to win so they get engaged and send me information that helps my business grow.
