We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hamid Qassimi a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hamid , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar your firm earns is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
My First initial Client was the golf course I worked in when I was in college and it was such an amazing feel because I worked there as a server for 4 years before starting my transportation business. They found my post on my IG page and it was one of the members who has a big share of the club. He messaged me saying “you have a transportation company now ?” And that was it, I started getting connected to all of those members at the club since they knew me personally and had that connection. We still drive them till today 8yrs on.

Hamid , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are HQ Luxury Transportation and we were founded in 2015. We provide all types of Transportation services, we have Luxury, hourly and much much more. We have all ranges of prices as well so if you are just needing a normal ride we have that service available as well. Our 3 main goals to be different is high quality service, consistency and gratitude. All of these 3 core of our Pillars make us stand out in the industry since the competition is so high. What we want is to make sure every single of our clients not worry about if they will be late for a flight or miss a meeting or an event they have been planning to go to. Our clients love our consistency of being at their location 15 mins before pickup time. We believe being on time is late because we take everything into consideration and also having drivers who go above and beyond for our clients comfort and that’s what makes me so proud of HQ Luxury transportation.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The most effective way I’ve found new clients is through word of mouth. While it may seem old-fashioned, this method has been crucial in connecting with clients who align with our values. We’ve been fortunate to make a positive impact on our clients, and they, in turn, have referred us to their friends, family, and coworkers. This approach has led to significant success for us, so we began offering referral discounts and other incentives to encourage our existing clients to spread the word.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
While starting my transportation business, I worked as a server at a small golf club and was also finishing college. During my time there, I began to notice the concerns members had about trusting apps to transport their loved ones—kids, parents, and close friends. The main feedback I received was their anxiety over safety and consistency. This insight prompted me to take a leap of faith and share my business idea, highlighting how it could address their worries.
From this experience, I developed the initial two pillars of HQ Luxury Transportation, as I began researching the specific needs of this clientele. When I presented my concept to the members one by one, it became clear that there was a significant demand for such a service, leading me to secure many clients from that golf club.
