Ilija, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?

To be successful, I believe it takes passion, persistence, and adaptability. As a photographer in New York, these qualities have been crucial for me. Passion drives me to improve, persistence helps me overcome setbacks, and adaptability keeps me relevant in a fast-changing industry.

One example is when I faced technical issues during a high-profile event shoot. By staying persistent and adapting my techniques, I managed to impress the client and secure more opportunities.

In short, success is about loving what you do, never giving up, and always being ready to learn and adjust.

Ilija, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

For those who may not know me, I’m Ilija, a passionate photographer based in New York. My journey into photography began when I was in high school and had a lot of photoshoots with my sister and friends, after I become a photographer assistant and this passion led me to pursue photography full-time in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

I specialize in fashion, beauty and portrait photography, providing high-quality images that capture the essence of people, moments, and clothes. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with technical expertise, ensuring every shot is unique and compelling.

One of the main problems I solve for my clients is helping them preserve their most cherished memories and present themselves or their brand in the best light. Whether it’s a fashion editorial, an actor portrait, or beauty campaign photography, my goal is to deliver exceptional quality and service.

I’m most proud of the connections I’ve made and the stories I’ve been able to tell through my lens. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact my work has on people’s lives and memories. For potential clients, followers, or fans, I want you to know that my work is driven by a genuine love for photography and a commitment to excellence. I strive to create images that not only look beautiful but also evoke emotions and tell a story.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

One of my biggest dreams has already come true: living and working in New York City. The energy and diversity of this city continually inspire my photography and push me to grow as an artist. My next major goal is to have my photography featured on the cover of American Vogue. Achieving this would be a pinnacle of my career, representing not only recognition of my work but also a celebration of my creative journey and the stories I strive to tell through my lens.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson I had to unlearn was the belief that success comes quickly if you’re talented enough. The backstory is that, early in my career, I expected rapid success due to my skills and passion. However, I soon realized that true success requires time, consistent effort, and resilience. This shift in mindset helped me appreciate the journey and stay committed even during challenging times.
