Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
I owe everything I am to my parents and the sacrifices they made for our family. From raising me with strong values that have shaped me as an adult to the financial and emotional challenges they faced when they made the difficult decision to send my siblings and me abroad for our education. They understood that graduating from an American university would open countless new opportunities for us, ones we might not have had otherwise. Their unwavering belief in our potential, along with the values they instilled in us over 17 years, provided a strong foundation that has guided us in making the right choices, even far from home.
While my parents aren’t perfect—because I don’t believe perfection exists—I firmly believe they made the best possible decisions with the resources they had at the time. I am profoundly grateful for everything they did, but most importantly, for their unwavering belief in me, both then and now. As a result, I consider myself a fulfilled woman, fully equipped to face any challenge with optimism, courage, and the confidence to succeed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the TV Host and reporter for Telemundo St. Louis, the first and only Spanish-language TV network in St. Louis, MO. Being in this role has been an incredible privilege, allowing me to not only connect with but also become a part of the amazing Hispanic community we have in this city. Every day, I do my best to keep our community informed about what’s happening in St. Louis through our Acceso Total segment. Additionally, with Acceso a Tu Fin de Semana, sponsored by Explore St. Louis, we offer a weekly guide to the most exciting events and activities happening, so everyone can stay connected and enjoy what our city has to offer.
What fills me with the most pride about Telemundo St. Louis is that it is so much more than just a TV station; it is a committed ally to our community, a pillar that supports Hispanics at every step of the way. I have had the honor of witnessing and being part of extraordinary events like “Navidando”, the “Día del Niño Fest,” the “Back to School Fair”, and the most impactful event we’ve ever organized, the “Tu Salud” health fair, where hundreds of families were given free access to essential medical services. These events not only demonstrate our commitment, but also the power of our community when we come together.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is simple yet profound: to serve and uplift both the Anglo and Hispanic communities. I hope that every person I meet remembers me for the meaningful and positive impact I’ve made in their life. If I can also spark a smile along the way, then I’ve achieved something truly special. A smile, to me, is more than just an expression, it’s a gateway that can unlock new opportunities and forge connections that might have seemed impossible before. I believe that when service is driven by the heart, it transcends cultures and creates bonds that stand the test of time. Ultimately, I want my legacy to be one of compassion, optimism, and the joy that comes from making a genuine difference in the lives of others.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation is built on a foundation of simplicity, humility, honesty, and a relentless work ethic, principles that guide me in everything I do. To me, kindness and courage go hand in hand, and I have an unwavering belief that the truth will always prevail. These values are at the heart of who I am, and I remain deeply committed to them. They shape every decision, relationship, and project I pursue, reminding me that true success lies not just in achievements, but in the authenticity and lasting positive impact we leave on the lives we touch.
