Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cagla Aykac. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cagla, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Art has been a central part of my life from a young age. I am 34 years old now, but my journey began in primary school when I first took up oil painting. Over the course of two years, I created nearly 20 paintings and had the opportunity to hold an exhibition under my name in the 5th grade. Throughout my education, both music and painting continued to be significant aspects of my life.
After high school, I pursued a degree in IT at university. Following graduation, I worked in corporate environments for 5.5 years. However, despite this career path, I always felt that something was missing. It wasn’t until I started helping a friend in his tattoo studio that I discovered my true calling. Watching tattoo artists work reignited my passion for art, and I decided to pursue tattoo artistry as my profession.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
When I first started tattooing, I didn’t know exactly how I would succeed. However, my passion for the craft drove me to work tirelessly and continuously. I was determined to grow in this field, knowing that it would require a great deal of effort and commitment. I also recognized that embracing innovation would be key to my improvement. Tattoo art is a profession that demands meticulous attention to detail, and my ambition was the primary force behind my progress.
What truly sets me apart in this profession, however, is my dedication to understanding my clients and fully grasping their desires. When I design and tattoo, I approach each piece with the same level of care and detail that I would want for my own tattoo. My goal is for each client to carry their tattoos with pride and happiness for a lifetime.
Another crucial aspect of tattooing is the placement of the artwork. I always offer my clients thoughtful suggestions on placement to ensure the final result enhances the design. Ultimately, combining all these elements—passion for my craft, attention to detail, and genuine care for my clients—results in creating meaningful and lasting tattoos.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Today, social media is the most powerful channel for connecting tattoo art with people. When curating my own social media, I focus on sharing photos of my work that establish trust at first glance. Consistency is key, so I consistently use the same color tones to create a cohesive visual style. Additionally, I share glimpses of my personal life, which helps build a stronger sense of trust and connection with my customers and potential clients.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist is the ability to create something meaningful and lasting for my clients. Every tattoo holds a personal story or significance for the person wearing it, and being entrusted to bring that vision to life is an incredible privilege. It’s not just about the art itself but the connection and trust I build with each client. Seeing their happiness and satisfaction when they look at their new tattoo is a deeply fulfilling experience. Knowing that my work becomes a permanent part of someone’s journey and self-expression is what truly drives my passion as an artist.
