We were lucky to catch up with Momalyu / Liubov Kriuchkova recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi MOMALYU / Liubov , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

My entire career has been centered around creativity. As a child, I began my creative journey in art school, but later I graduated from university as an interior designer. The first part of my career was dedicated to furniture and interior design. But today, I am an interdisciplinary artist and surface designer.
Painting has always been my passion and a parallel hobby. I first made a professional statement as an artist in 2016, when we had already been living in Thailand for a year. That’s when I decided to present myself to the world, even though I had already been creating paintings for my clients’ interiors.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am Liubov Kriuchkova (artist name is MOMALYU), an interdisciplinary artist living in Slovenia. Through my art, I explore the relationship between nature and humanity.
***My name is Love (Liubov- transl.). That’s my name, and that’s my way of exploring and reimagining the
world around me. Today, in the dynamic rhythm of life, I feel a strong need to maintain my inner
balance and be a source of light for others. So, my art is a way to connect with my true beginning,
highlight everything good and good in myself and others through contemplation of the beauty of
nature and connection with it.
“Know yourself – and you know the world,” said the ancient sages, and for me these are not just
words. Moe creativity is an expansion of the picture of the world and a way of self-discovery.
Contemplating nature, which opens towards the rays of the sun, I find much in common with how
our souls open towards love, transforming. So, drawing resources from nature, I paint light and
harmony.****
My entire career has been centered around design and creativity. I graduated from the School of Fine Arts and have professional education in design, along with successful experience in the furniture and interior industry.

After moving to Thailand in 2015, I decided to fully dedicate myself to art, following my true desires. In travelling and emigrating, I’ve clearly realised that nature is the truest source of inspiration. It was there that the concept of my art was born — to return to inner balance through the contemplation of nature’s beauty, finding support and harmony by using natural resources. The diversity of forms, colors, and shades in nature amazes us, showing infinite possibilities and inspiring us to discover new boundaries within ourselves and in the surrounding world.

I express my sense of unity with nature on canvas using oil paints, which I find noble and profound. Their natural earthy tones symbolize grounding, while the greens represent energy, growth, development, and harmony.

In addition to painting, I began creating floral designs at that time and continue to collaborate with several companies, creating unique prints and patterns for wallpaper and textiles.

Today, living in Slovenia, I continue my journey as an artist, exploring and deepening my concept by creating new collections of paintings that reflect the relationship between nature and humanity. I participate in international exhibitions and social festivals.
I am open to collaborations in interdisciplinary fields with similar concepts to strengthen our shared mission. Together, we can create projects that inspire and emphasize the importance of harmony and connection with nature.
Recently, I joined seven artists from different countries, led by a curator Yulia Sysalova, to present the project “Go Game,” which has a deep philosophy, at Platforms in Athens, where it received a great response and will continue to develop.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Art is a message through which an artist conveys their ideas to the world. Every artist desires to be heard, as they are like a conduit between the physical and spiritual realms. By reading the concepts behind artists’ works, art will appear deeper and more meaningful to you, giving it value, and you might even find answers to your questions within their creations.
Any feedback—whether it’s a review of a purchased painting or simply the emotions a piece evokes—is a great motivation for the artist. When a monologue turns into a dialogue

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

I am often told that my paintings carry positive energy and deep meaning – and this is indeed my mission as an artist. Silence, contemplation, gratitude – through them one can hear one’s true self. By contemplating nature, through my paintings, I strive to bring a greater understanding of its value and wisdom to the world. In my work, I try to show that by understanding and appreciating the nature around us, we learn to appreciate and discover ourselves. What helps me may help others as well
