We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kendra Hall. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kendra below.
Kendra , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
From Idea to Action: How I Launched Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc.
The idea for Droppin Jewelz LLC started with my own story. I’ve faced some tough challenges—teen motherhood, homelessness, domestic violence—and through it all, I realized that my journey could help other women find their strength. I wrote my first book, Droppin Jewelz: Guiding Principles to Help Girls Live Their Best Life, as the first step toward creating a space where women could feel empowered to grow beyond their circumstances.
But it wasn’t just women who needed support. I wanted to help young people too, which is why I founded Jewelz Foundation Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth.
Execution: Making the Vision Real
When I decided to turn these ideas into reality, I knew I needed a clear strategy. For Droppin Jewelz LLC, I focused on personal development workshops, motivational speaking, and creating content that speaks directly to the hearts of women who are on their own journeys. With Jewelz Foundation Inc., the focus was on creating impactful programs like the Dream More Teen Summit, where we offer mentorship and mental health support to teens. A major breakthrough came when I partnered with Master P and Snoop Dogg to launch the Captain Ace & K-9 Team Enrichment Fun Program, a program that combines education and creativity to make learning more engaging for young people.
Overcoming Obstacles
It wasn’t easy. The hurdles, figuring out how to build impactful programs, and balancing both businesses came with their challenges. But I knew that both Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc. were about creating real, lasting change for the communities I serve. For women, it’s about stepping into their power. For youth, it’s about helping them see that no matter where they start, they can lead, grow, and impact the world around them.
Looking Forward
As I move forward, I’m focused on expanding both Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc.. With Droppin Jewelz, it’s about creating more opportunities for women to connect, grow, and inspire each other. With Jewelz Foundation, it’s continuing to build programs that provide the leadership and mental health support young people need to succeed.
I’m excited for what’s ahead, and if you’re ready to be part of this journey, I invite you to learn more at droppinjewelz.com and Jewelzfoundation.com.
Together, we can continue making an impact.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Kendra Hall, the founder of Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc.. My journey started from personal challenges—teen motherhood, homelessness, and domestic violence—that taught me resilience and the importance of empowerment. I wanted to create spaces where women and youth could find the support and tools they need to rise above adversity.
Through Droppin Jewelz LLC, I offer personal development books, workshops, and motivational speaking, designed to empower women to take control of their lives. My book, Droppin Jewelz: Guiding Principles to Help Girls Live Their Best Life, is at the heart of this work, offering practical tools for growth.
On the other side, Jewelz Foundation Inc. focuses on mentoring youth and building future leaders through programs grounded in Leadership Development, Personal Growth, Mental Health Support, and Community Impact. We provide resources, mental health support, and leadership training to youth facing challenges like homelessness or domestic violence, offering them a safe space to grow and thrive.
What sets my work apart is the personal connection to the challenges I’m helping others overcome. I’ve lived through the struggles many of my clients face, and I’ve transformed that experience into actionable solutions that make a lasting impact.
What I’m most proud of is the impact these programs are having—seeing women reclaim their power and watching young people grow into confident leaders is the greatest reward. If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s that transformation is possible, no matter where you start. My work is all about helping others realize their potential and providing them the tools to succeed.
This response highlights your journey, the services you provide, and what sets you apart while emphasizing your passion and impact. Let me know if this captures what you’re looking for!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There was a moment in my life when I was just 18—a mother of three, homeless, and abandoned by the people I depended on. The world might’ve expected me to give up, but I knew God wasn’t finished with me. I had a choice—let the pain define me or let it fuel me. I chose the latter. Through faith and an unshakeable belief that my story wasn’t over, I built Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc.. What once felt like the end became the beginning of a purpose far greater than I could’ve imagined. Now, I dedicate my life to helping others see that no matter how deep their struggles, they can rise above and create something extraordinary.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When I started Droppin Jewelz LLC and Jewelz Foundation Inc., I relied on the income from my full-time state job, which I’ve held for over 22 years. This financial stability allowed me to fund my business without the pressure of loans or investors. I was able to grow my brand organically by gradually investing in my programs, books, and initiatives while maintaining my personal financial security. This approach gave me the freedom to build my businesses at my own pace.
