We were lucky to catch up with Jamone Mckenzie recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jamone , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
Being misunderstood is definitely a thing that happens more than usual because many people don’t understand the mindset it takes to do the creative sport I love doing. Not everyone thinks the same way or does the same style in which the sport is being done, but unless you’re in the sport and understand the cultural aspect of it then you’re not really going to understand a lot about me or many of my peers within the sport of skateboarding.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Jamone, but alot of the skateboarding community knows me as psycho. The name is suppose to throw you off because it’s not like I am actually a psycho, but the way I skate and things I come up with is a bit psycho hence the name. I’m really proud to be a skateboarder because it gave me a new experience in life that many other sports can’t provide. When it comes to me personally the main thing I want people to understand is that I am a genuine good soul and a hard working one at that, but never the less if you want to see how my life progresses then follow my Instagram and or YouTube channel.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Before, the social media era came into play, I was already making small YouTube videos here and there or my skating progress and or memories for the future to look back on. So with doing that, all my supporters basically followed my other platforms to keep supporting and viewing my life’s journey.
My advice to anyone just starting to build their social media would be to be yourself and have a good idea what you want to share with the public.

Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFTs are cool, but in my honest opinion, if it’s like most things then it will be good for awhile, until eventually it dies down.
