We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Reena De Asis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
If you’re a mission driven firm, we’d love to hear the story behind the mission. We don’t just want to know what your mission is, we want to understand why it’s a meaningful mission for you.
At the heart of my life’s purpose is a commitment to service, a guiding compass shaped by my upbringing in the Philippines, where my grandmother was a healer. I was intuitively drawn to helping others and alleviating suffering from a young age. My core values are rooted in empathy, collaboration, and creating positive, lasting change. This dedication led me to establish Inclusive Sol, which fosters inclusivity and equitable access for families of children with disabilities. Serving as both a resource and advocacy hub, Inclusive Sol supports those navigating the challenges of cerebral palsy (C.P). This work is deeply personal, inspired by my radiant son and a community whose voices deserve to be heard and valued.
Harnessing the strength of communities is essential to supporting the often marginalized. My work revolves around social impact, meaningful connection, and transformative change. I’m deeply passionate about relationship-building, as it’s vital to inspiring trust and forming partnerships. Throughout my career, I’ve intentionally developed socially conscious campaigns and events that unite people around common goals, mobilizing our collective strengths to create positive change. Regardless of sector, each project reaffirms my commitment to bringing people together for the greater good.
My commitment to inclusivity and equity is unwavering. Alongside my dedication to Inclusive Sol’s mission, I serve as a principal at the Roberts Enterprise Development Fund (REDF), where we focus on building an inclusive economy. As a Principal with the Government Partnerships & Policy Team, I oversee impactful marketing, events, and advocacy efforts championing equitable workforce development.

For folks who may not have read about you before, can you please tell our readers about yourself, how you got into your industry / business / discipline / craft etc, what type of products/services/creative works you provide, what problems you solve for your clients and/or what you think sets you apart from others. What are you most proud of and what are the main things you want potential clients/followers/fans to know about you/your brand/your work/ etc.
Please provide as much detail as you feel relevant as this is one of the core questions where the reader will get to know about you and your brand/organization/etc
I’ve led impactful initiatives and organized events that drive positive change throughout my career. In previous leadership roles, I served as Executive Director of Dress for Success Worldwide-West, Director of Marketing for Causecast, and Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations for L.A. Works. These roles helped hone my strategic partnerships, advocacy, and community engagement skills.
For the past 6.5 years with REDF, I have overseen the Los Angeles Regional Initiative for Social Enterprise (LA:RISE) program. This $80M public-private partnership has helped thousands of Angelenos—including people who are homeless or unstably housed and have been involved in the justice system—pursue economic independence. I’m grateful for the work I’ve been able to do at REDF, where we’re building an economy that works. For everyone.
Furthermore, my consulting work with RDA Strategies has allowed me to work on meaningful projects like the City of West Hollywood’s Annual Women’s Leadership Conference, the Circle of Change Leadership Conference, and the Five for Fighting benefit concert for HomeAid. I’ve also presented at the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference, the Center for Nonprofit Management’s 501(c) conference, and California State University, Fullerton.
One of my proudest accomplishments is founding Inclusive Sol, an advocacy and resource hub inspired by my son, Elijah Sol, who has cerebral palsy. Since its inception, Inclusive Sol has led initiatives to expand awareness, resources, and support for individuals and families navigating C.P. challenges. This year, Inclusive Sol made history by championing the first-ever cerebral palsy motion passed by the L.A. Board of Supervisors, an essential step toward improving family resources. Inclusive Sol further highlighted the cause by organizing the green illumination of Los Angeles City Hall for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day.
In August, Inclusive Sol partnered with the L.A. County Commission on Disabilities and the Aging & Disabilities Department to host L.A. County’s inaugural cerebral palsy webinar, which garnered record attendance and reinforced the need for community support and information. In September, Inclusive Sol’s advocacy extended to the education system, successfully initiating a resolution with the LAUSD Board of Education to officially recognize World Cerebral Palsy Day, promoting inclusivity for students with C.P. across the district.
These milestones reflect Inclusive Sol’s mission to bridge support gaps, amplify the voices of families affected by C.P., and foster meaningful change.
Moreover, I’ve also worked as a freelance writer, workshop leader, and speaker, sharing insights on purpose-driven work, strategic marketing, and social responsibility in publications such as Forbes and Huffington Post. I aim to inspire and empower others by offering practical advice for driving positive impact. For clients, partners, and supporters, I hope my work reflects a commitment to dedication, compassion, and meaningful transformation in our communities.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As the daughter of immigrants, I embraced “the land of opportunity” and the responsibility to advocate for a more just and inclusive future. My parents were in and out of our lives during our formative years, working abroad to provide for my sister and me. Once in the United States, much of my childhood was spent in residential care homes for older adults, where my parents worked, moving wherever they could find employment, which meant that resilience and self-sufficiency became essential to my survival. This environment taught me to be introspective and gave me a unique perspective on compassion and service—a foundation profoundly shaped by my grandmother, who instilled these values in me during the first seven years of my life.
I’ve always felt an innate calling to be part of the solution, driven by a deep desire to alleviate suffering and create a more compassionate world. In high school, I founded a Youth Ending Hunger club to address food insecurity in our community. At 14, I became vegetarian, driven by my shock at inhumane factory farming practices and environmental impact, and later embraced a plant-based lifestyle in 2016. My advocacy continued in college, where I raised funds and awareness for V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls. Working full-time to put myself through school, I initiated a corporate volunteer program. I initiated monthly philanthropic events at O’Neil even though it wasn’t what I was hired to do. I also worked to support a leading nonprofit focused on housing for people experiencing homelessness. Volunteering became my sanctuary, and live music my joy.
By age 20, I had bought my first car and moved out by 21. With determination and hard work, I graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in communications and a minor in human services. These experiences shaped my path, fueling my career in empowering communities, elevating marginalized voices, and championing positive change. Through my journey, I’ve learned that resilience is not just about enduring hardship—it’s about using those experiences to uplift others and build a future rooted in empathy and equity.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I approach my work with purpose and a sincere desire to make a positive impact. My efforts are grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a vision for meaningful change.
With a warm and open communication style, I aim to build genuine, collaborative relationships based on trust. This connection-centered approach helps me encourage open dialogue and create a space where everyone feels valued and supported.
Using strategic thinking and ideation strengths, I view challenges from different perspectives, often finding connections for innovative, practical solutions. This thinking helps me create thoughtful plans that contribute to positive outcomes.
I’m drawn to problem-solving and strive to approach each situation carefully. I’m passionate about understanding others on a deeper level, and I find fulfillment in meaningful conversations that help me better support and encourage those around me.
I am a servant leader, focused on empowering others and contributing to lasting change. My approach combines empathy with a commitment to thoughtful action, and I hope to leave a positive impact in my field. Words I aspire to live by Mahatma Gandhi, “My Life is my Message.”
