We were lucky to catch up with Jack Lamborn recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jack, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Hand work and deduction, always working harder than your competition! Back in my 11th grade year of high school when I started JackPsd, I worked a fast food job while trying to learn how to make a quality product. That year I pulled 47 all-nighters just to learn how to better myself and develop the skills needed to succeed.
Jack, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello my name is Jack Lamborn, I am a 21 year old graphic designer and VFX artist for the music industry. My work has accumulated over 500 million streams on Spotify, and over 30 million views on Instagram. I provide a creative approach to music album covers and artist branding that sets them apart from the rest of their competition. Whether that be through visual 3D animations and digital character development or song branding via the album artwork and/or artist merchandise designs. Thought my mid teens I had always been infatuated with music and local signage, so I decided to apply to a local career center’s graphics program. I was accepted into the program and learned the basics of all the major industry standard software that was needed to perfect the clients needs. I have periodically been invited to speak with the new students to help teach them and show them where hard work and dedication can lead them!
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source for new clients comes from quality work which encourages word of mouth. Another method is Meta advertisement’s, Meta ads have provided nearly 70% of my clients and 80% of those clients are reoccurring. Major placements have also been a large portion of client growth, my main placements have come from rising artists such as 7ru7h and Lecade. Clients will see their favorite artists use my work and want to imitate them.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Starting an online presence has had its ups and downs, especially when you take criticism to heart. The best way to combat criticism is by striving to make a better product. It’s good to take in creative criticism and act upon it especially when it comes from a place of respect. That being said, if you create something that you put your time and effort in, seeing others enjoy your work and how your creativity affects them, is worth it all.
