Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Claudia Tejeda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Claudia, appreciate you joining us today. Talk to us about building a team – did you hire quickly, how’d you recruit the first few team members? Any interesting lessons?
Prior to starting my own brokerage firm, my previous broker at Platinum Properties International afforded me a wonderful opportunity by letting me build my own team, which I called The Tejeda Team at Platinum. That experience allowed me to practice creating spaces for deep learning as well as building really strong bonds with my team members. We became more than a team, we were friends. Really, they were the ones to push me to get my brokers license and start my own firm. Once I had Tejeda Real Estate Inc up and running they all came and transferred to my office. They made the transition into brokerage easy for me.


Claudia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a realtor since 2007 and mainly worked for big developers or top producing brokers. Platinum Properties was the last one I was with, until I opened my own Real Estate firm called Tejeda Real Estate Inc. in 2017. Tejeda Real Estate, Inc. is a boutique real estate firm. There are about ten dedicated real estate agents that cover a wide range of areas. We help sellers market, sell their homes, find qualified tenants for landlords and lease their homes. We also deal with commercial leasing and selling of properties. Being part of the Miami Association of Realtors allows us access to a wide range of exclusive listings to best help clients find properties that meet not only their likes, but also their budgets. Given current economic uncertainties, many of our clients come to us in despair because of inflation and lack of inventory. Our clients can rest assured that we will never give up on them– that is our number one priority. We help clients find something even if we have to make 20 offers before actually getting one accepted. This type of client dedication, decade plus experience, and strong expertise in executing deals, truly sets Tejeda Real Estate, Inc apart from other firms. We are proud to say that we have helped countless clients find a place to call home and countless sellers sell homes they could no longer afford. We pride ourselves in having clients that are very grateful and appreciative of the time and effort we put into helping them, especially during these unprecedented times.


Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele is to treat all of our clients with the same amount of respect, dedication, loyalty and motivation that we would give our own family and friends. We put every transaction, no matter the commission, as our top priority. Treating every client this way will guarantee their referral of your company to all their friends and family. It’s a tried and true method though and through. I like to tell all my realtors that, “Everyone who rents eventually buys.” Keeping a strong relationship with your clients and helping them throughout this important life process will leave a satisfactory and long lasting impression, leading them to reach out to you for their real estate needs. To them, you will be THAT hard working realtor that they know will get the job done.


We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I recently had a client who came to me because he was having a hard time finding a rental unit due to the really low inventory in the area he was inquiring about. I took him in and never gave up. I eventually found him a brand new home to rent, for which he was extremely grateful. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from his sister wanting to buy a home. Naturally, I gave her the same dedication I gave her brother and was very motivated to find her a property. It took a couple months of making multiple offers that kept getting over bid by cash buyers, but again we landed a brand new home that she was able to buy. Shortly after that, her brother called me again to let me know that he was ready to buy a home. We are currently under contract. This is all a result of hard work, dedication and believing that there is a home for everyone, you just have to keep searching until you find it.
