Kourt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful you need to work hard, be dedicated and have a passion for what you are doing. As a travel agent and content creator there are multiple things that have made me successful. I must have a knowledge for travel, understanding destinations and cultures while staying up to date on travel regulations and industry trends. I need to have strong communication skills, being able to communicate effectively with my clients and understand their wants and needs is an absolute must. Having amazing customer service skills is a must as well. I have to build personal relationships with my clients and treat all of them as if they are my family. My content creator skills come into play as well in this business, as I need to have great marketing techniques to catch my clients eye. I have to be savvy in social media, SEO, and content marketing to reach a broader audience and create engaging content that resonates with potential travelers. Lastly, my organizational skills have to be superb. I have to manage bookings, itineraries, and multiple client details efficiently.

Eight years ago, I embarked on a thrilling journey as a travel agent with Discover the Magic Vacations, marking the start of a career that has been nothing short of amazing. Over the years, my passion for travel led me to expand my horizons into travel and lifestyle content creation. Balancing these two roles has been a rewarding challenge, and my dedication has opened doors to numerous incredible opportunities. I absolutely love planning, organizing, and booking incredible vacation destinations for families. While I work with a variety of travel options, I specialize in cruises, Disney, Universal, and all-inclusive resorts. It fills me with pride to have clients who return year after year, allowing me to craft special trips that create lasting memories for them. On the content creation side, I’m passionate about sharing these amazing experiences with my viewers, showcasing the best destinations and activities for family adventures. The opportunities and collaborations I’ve had so far are truly fulfilling, and I’m excited to continue bringing both exceptional travel experiences and engaging content to my audience.
Although we do not want it to happen sometimes problems do arise when we are planning travel or while traveling. Having a travel agent on your side to help with these problems can help with your stress level. When things go wrong travel agents use their expert guidance, and troubleshooting skills to help things get back into the right place. Travel agents also use all avenues to secure better rates, discounts, and package deals that clients might not find on their own.
I am most proud of a few things within my business and the first one is that I am able to create amazing trips for families that allow them to have long lasting memories that they will cherish forever. As a content creator I have partnered with several brands and continue to partner with more. I never thought that would be something I was able to do and I am so proud of myself.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me as been my social media presence. I am on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and Lemon8. I have grown on these platforms and continue to grow daily. I get new clients mainly from Instagram and TikTok on a weekly basis. TikTok is known for being a SEO platform, in my opinion it is some peoples version of google. Clients will go on there to see videos of trips they may be interested in taking and reach out to the original poster with questions. I keep my travel request form in a link in my Bio on all of my platforms so clients can reach out and work with me for zero cost to them!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve been building my social media platforms for three years by focusing on consistency. I continue to grow my social media by consistently posting content that resonates with my audience, focusing on family travel destinations, travel deals, and enjoyable experiences. This approach gives my followers what they want to see, fostering engagement and growth.
I will also post random lifestyle content as this connects with my followers on a personal level.
I post daily, often multiple times a day, and I collaborate with a team of agents to help them grow their presence as well. My key rule is that consistency is essential; regular posting boosts visibility in algorithms, leading to more exposure and rewards from the platforms.
