Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Velile Ntoni. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Velile, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
No I haven’t it’s still really hard but I I’m also a chef so that helps with the bills and being able to leave day to day
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My full name is Velile Ntoni born and raised in South Africa eMdantsane in the eastern cape province I’ve always wanted to be a dj since I was young but that didn’t happen until 2018/219 when I had moved to work in the USA as a chef and I’ve been djying since than
2022 me and my friend we started doing our own parties under the name the GROOVSTS and that has been an interesting experience on its own
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me about being in the creative industry is that it’s a people based industry where you get to share your ideas and creativity with people and that way you get to create memories for my self and the people that consume the work we do
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I think what society can do is to try and understand the creatives them selfs before and that way it would be easier to understand the work that the creatives create I think once you understand the back story of the product it’s much easier to relate to too
