Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammy Gail. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tammy , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My company will celebrate 30 years in August 2025, a milestone that represents decades of learning, growth, setbacks, and triumphs. I believe a person’s mission evolves as they do. What I valued 30 years ago is vastly different from what I value today. My mission now is simple: Do the right thing, work with people who share your values and ethics, trust your instincts, and ensure that what you do—and who you do it with—brings you happiness. Philanthropy is a vital part of my life because, to me, it’s always better to give than to receive.

Tammy , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years ago. As a young survivor, cancer changed everything—my outlook, perspective, and my approach to life. During my treatment, which involved six surgeries and months of chemotherapy, I almost lost my business. I had built it from the ground up, but I was on the verge of losing everything. After a lot of soul-searching, I realized I was tenacious, determined, and resourceful, and I needed to reinvent my business model. That’s when Clearwater Beach Uncorked, a food and wine festival, was born. From there, we launched Cocoa Beach Uncorked, Savor St. Pete, and Savor SoFLO in South Florida. These events brought joy and excitement back into my life, and I’m proud of how they’ve grown.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The words “You have breast cancer” taught me more about resilience than anything else. As a single mom with sole custody, living 1,200 miles away from family, I had to keep myself healthy and my business afloat for the sake of my son. That challenge tested me, but it also revealed my strength. Cancer ended up being a blessing because it changed how I see people and situations. My motto became: I only hang with cool people, and I’ve lived by that credo for the past two decades.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
There isn’t a single lesson I would unlearn. Every mistake, misstep, and lesson has contributed to my growth. Without them, we stall. I wouldn’t change a single decision because my life would look completely different, and I’m extremely happy with where I am today. The lessons—both good and bad—have made me strong and confident. Even the blemishes in life serve a purpose, and I embrace them as stepping stones to the next chapter. I’m excited for whatever comes next!
