We recently connected with Ashley Gonzales and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I have ever taken was making the decision to start my own business. I have worked in the medical field for over a decade, with experience in many different specialties. I have loved each position I held. I learned, I grew, and I used my experience to do more. I always knew I wanted to have my own business, for sure it was always to take care of others in some way. When I started Bodycure, I was working with an amazing clinic, great co-workers and I loved my patients. But still I felt like I was capable of doing more. I start Bodycure in 2022, doing mobile house visits for post op care a couple times a week. I’d work my clinical position, then in the evening I’d go see clients at their house. I used all my time outside of work to market, visit clientele and really poured into getting my services known. About a year in, I took the biggest risk of my life. I left the comfort and security of the clinic where I loved to work, to take on Bodycure full time. This risk wouldn’t have been an option without the support of my family, friends and colleagues. Thankfully with word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals my schedule began to fill.
This took so much faith in God, a lot of continuous hard work, networking, and great clientele that sent their friends and family my way. So much internal and external factors in my life were happening at this time, that sometimes I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. Right after starting Bodycure fulltime, I found out I was expecting, after years of infertility and unsuccessful fertility treatments. So much was changing so quickly, but the business God placed in my hands continued to grow, along with the baby in my womb.
The risk continues to be challenging and at times uncertain, but so worth it. I have built a business with the goal to provide optimum care to clientele, and an environment that people love to come too.
Ashley , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Ashley Gonzales, creator of Bodycure. I am born and raised from Midland, TX. I am a Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of medical experience. Specializing in various fields including Women’s Health, Labor and Delivery, Adult Health, and Postoperative Care.
Bodycure was created with the goal to provide optimum and educated care to all clientele, who are seeking guidance to their body goals when it comes to any postoperative care, holistic healing, and non-invasive body contouring.
We offer various customized services including Lymphatic drainage, Non-invasive Body Contouring, and Wound care.
We are most proud to get to work alongside numerous plastic surgeons, who have entrusted us to aid in the postoperative care of their patients.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I absolutely love this. I love what I do! I always knew I wanted to become a nurse. I’m a caretaker through and through. Getting to take care of my community. I would do this over and over again.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
You have to be willing to put yourself out there. One to one, I can talk to patients and clients all day along. Now getting in front of a crowd or camera I am shy. So this is something I have to learn to over-come. I have learned so much from friends who are great on camera and social media. Social networking and social media is key in getting your business seen.
